As an editor, I cringed 20 years ago every time a writer cited Wikipedia. Now I wish more people would use it. It's like the encyclopedia set on the shelf we had in the 1970s, though way deeper.

Regular reminder that anyone making confident predictions about anything is a fool. No one knows what's going to happen. Lean into uncertainty and get comfortable with it.

january 6th was a mob of people attacking a single, lightly defended location in order to stop a centralized process of vote counting. for a midterm election, the comparable thing would be about 150,000 january 6ths across the entire united states.
Did everyone somehow forget what January 6th was
the question to ask about this is, okay, he wants to cancel the midterms. how does he get the VA state board of elections to cancel the midterms? how does he get the georgia board of elections to do it? how does he convince republican house members to quit their jobs and give up their paychecks?

Nothing Trump does is intended to benefit average people in the US, Greenland, Venezuela, Iran, or anywhere else. They are always the ones who bear the costs, burdens and negative consequences.

Everything he does benefits himself and his billionaire cronies around the globe.

Another red flag is the accounts pushing this Sascha Riley story out appeared in my comments IMMEDIATELY. Not an hour later. Not the next day, IMMEDIATELY. That means they are monitoring and trying to control the conversation. Again, not organic.
Sasha Riley feels like an op to undermine credibility. There I said it.

The dedication to the bit is honestly impressive.
Also I'm sure there are no other fascist defence contractor tech companies run by people with long running personal disdain for Musk that will be pissed off by this.
U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth announced the integration of Elon Musk's xAI platform, Grok, into military networks as part of a new "AI acceleration strategy" during a visit to SpaceX.

Like, I'll complain about German fed and state governments loading local government up with mandatory expenditures without compensating them with revenues for it, but like, it would be distinctly worse when administered directly from above.
See certain cities where those authorities are mixed.

England is a truly magical place where a central government is incapable of doing shit despite a comical majority in a Westminster system, but the fault for everything must be from lower levels of government having too much power left.
"Steve Reed said local elections were “time consuming and will take scarce resources away from frontline services like fixing potholes and social care”."

Incredible shitpost considering the chucklefucks in the WH are responsible for inventing the alleged crime as part of scheming viziers aiming for the chairmanship, but also Pirro has to be a top 3, at least top 5 awful DOJ appointee here, which is honestly an impressive achievement.

Putin, on the other hand, understands he missed the boat in that one but he’s got a “ Wild card” to play in the form of his “Deceptocon” named Orange Faced Bandit.
“Hey Donny, remember that $500 mill I lent you back in 88’, well, I’m the check is looking to be cashed” kinda talk

Now I’ve certainly never claimed to be “ The Brightest Light in the Room” but golly this Greenland play sure smells something Stinky like Putin and his World Takeover? See China sees the future, They’ve “acquired” most of the mineral resources out of Africa bc they’re playing the “ Long Game.”
