What made the offer over the top? Did it go from two bags of chips to two bags of chips and some fries (but you get the fries in a couple of years)?
The Wolves deal for Ayo Dosunmu emerged late in the process. The Bulls weighed several options, including keeping him or moving him elsewhere, before Tim Connelly came over the top with his offer. As late as yesterday evening, this wasn't looking like a real possibility.

It seems the "family values" party wasn't thinking about their families when voting.
The co-founder of Latinas for Trump is now condemning Trump’s ICE raids:

“I’m afraid of someone stopping my son.”

“This is not what we voted for.”

They're trying to treat this like the way J6 insurrectionists were treated. But like, dawg, polling predominantly supports the protestors in recognizing ICE is terrible. Beyond political allegiance. This admin is just so dumb.
TOM HOMAN: “We’re going to create a database where those people that are arrested for interference, impeding and assault, we’re going to make them famous. We’re going to put their face on TV. We’re going to let their employers, in their neighborhoods, in their schools, know who these people are.”

A reminder to the news media: “conflicting accounts” is what you say BEFORE the incontrovertible video evidence appears. After that, your job is to ask why one side is lying, not to repeat the lie and pretend no one knows the truth.

This is an excellent analogy, because my recollection from grade school is that the pen on the right looks fun and exciting, and then you play with it for a few minutes and realize it's not actually useful for anything and in fact makes some tasks more cumbersome, and never think about it again.
yeah, just out of interest, how many people choose the pen on the right for real work or art? See a lot of them in professional workplaces, do you?

President Trump “is now basically running our country the way he ran his companies — as a one-man show free to make terrible deals. That management style led to six bankruptcy filings by his companies,” our columnist Thomas Friedman writes.
Opinion | Trump’s Politics Are Not America First. They’re Me First.
Donald Trump is the most un-American president in our history. And in his second term, there is no one to constrain his un-American impulses.

Infielder Bo Bichette and the New York Mets are in agreement on a three-year, $126 million contract, sources tell ESPN.

After losing the Kyle Tucker sweepstakes, the Mets pivot quickly and get one of the best players left on the market. @WillSammon was first on the deal.

The warrant allowing the FBI to raid Washington Post reporter Hannah Natanson's home is "outrageous," FPF's Seth Stern told @richlusc.bsky.social and @jeremymbarr.bsky.social.

"The administration may now be in possession of volumes of journalist communications."

What does that say about the Democratic establishment?

Primary season is on right now, folks.

We all deserve better.

the left has offered solutions:
-raising wages
-universal healthcare
-affordable housing
-universal childcare
-paid parental leave
-action to mitigate the climate crisis

if only our leaders supported these wildly popular solutions. people don’t want kids in a world we’re struggling to survive in.
As birthrates tumble, some progressives say the left needs to offer ideas and solutions
The US and other countries face aging, shrinking populations. Conservatives have shaped debate over the issue. Some liberals say it's time for progressives to weigh in.

My thing about the hall of fame voting is that shit like this wouldn't happen if everyone submitted their ballots at the same time. So many of these seem like responses to how others have voted so far.
Ballot #144 is from Dan Shaughnessy. After voting for Beltré, Mauer, CC, Ichiro last 2 years, Dustin Pedroia (+13) earns his lone vote, the 1st known Pedroia-only ballot. Pedroia passes Rollins for 10th.

What I get from this is that the baseball season needs to be longer.
i think this site really needs to figure out how to grow the non-politics verticals (the baseball moment was a good thing!) because i suspect a lot of the bad clusters come out of the political clusters driving 95% of ENG-lang posts
I'd be happy with big non politics accounts.

this seems specifically designed to break mail-in voting (where deadlines are defined by postmark)
As of 12/24/25, USPS changed policy on when they postmark mail. Mail dropped off is no longer guaranteed a same-day postmark. Tax returns & other time-sensitive items are now stamped when they reach a regional processing center, which may be days later. Plan deadlines accordingly to avoid penalties.

Between Robert Suarez and Raisel Iglesias, Atlanta now has two of the five relievers with the most saves over the last two seasons. With a healthy Chris Sale, Spencer Schwellenbach and Spencer Strider, plus a full season of Hurston Waldrep, their pitching could take a huge leap.
