Welp, after years of planning, pots of dedicated funding, promises that despite other elements getting yanked from the plans that sidewalk repairs were still on the table, the only sidewalk on LWB that got repaved this year was the segment right in front of Bruce's house.

A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.

Imagine if there was a bus lane proposed in Madrona explicitly so Capitol Hill transit riders could access the neighborhood. That would not be accepted as a justification. To say nothing of the fact that Eastside cities like Bellevue are making it harder to get around without a car.

The only poll anyone will ever need. Swing states voters were +11 on the economy they experienced locally and minus 27 (!!) on the national economy they only heard about.

They didn't want Biden and Harris to win, but they do want Trump to win and rule us. So they use headlines, social media posts and push notifications to spin for him, especially around stuff like economic sentiment.
U.S GDP grew at a at a 4.9 percent annual rate over the summer of 2024, and the Times reported this as 'unsustainable,' bad news for Joe Biden.

Harrell held his in a wealthy lake front, car dependent neighborhood.

It really just can't be any clearer 🙌
Just wow. Katie Wilson, who has never held political office, leading Seattle mayor Bruce Harrell 46% to 45%. That's a stunning result tonight.

Tonight, we got results that were even better than we hoped, and it’s likely to only get better.

Seattle, you showed up!

It’s clear that voters want change.

This is your city.

Join the campaign, and let’s get this done!

Rob Saka has endlessly crowed about how spending $1M to remove Curby is "immigrant justice" but here he had a chance to spend $300k for the actual legal defense of immigrant children facing deportation and he voted AGAINST
Voting in favor: Rinck, Solomon, Strauss, Hollingsworth, Kettle.
Juarez had to abstain because of a board she sits on.
Rivera and Saka voted no.

One of the biggest declines in local tax revenues has been from the sales tax, mostly due to a dramatic decline in construction permits. This includes permits for new housing—less new housing (built by those ever-demonized developers) leads directly to funding shortfalls for the city.

There's a multi-decade plan by conservatives to develop the careers of conservative journalists in order to get them placed in high ranking positions in mainstream news orgs. What's happened at WaPo and NYT is in part the result of a deliberate conspiracy to infiltrate and sabotage these orgs.

This is what I keep coming back to. There is no constituency for weakening council ethics rules other than council members themselves. The public does not feel disenfranchised (and of course they used unspecified marginalized people as a shield) when elected officials can't vote due to conflicts.
Sometimes the lack of self awareness for the #Seattle city council is so astounding. Like yes weakening the ethics code at a time of unprecedented political corruption in order to benefit certain special interests is uh, gonna cause folks to get a little heated. 🤷🏾‍♀️
"It seems like everything we talk about in Seattle these days is heated and controversial," Moore observes—after proposing what would obviously be a controversial proposal to roll back rules that try to prevent council members from self dealing.
