OH SHIT ANCIENT SNOW CONE HERE I COME
The US ice core research community, with international partners, has recovered valuable records of past climate from the Arctic & Antarctic since the 1950s.

Here is a sampling of cores—including 6,000,000 year old ice via NSF Center for Oldest Ice Exploration—at the NSF Ice Core Facility.

Is this how I become the bird guy?
Here it is. A perfect turkey, every time.
TURKEY

Fully thaw. Fully separate the skin, even over the leg quarters. Make a quick compound butter (4 sticks, trust me) by softening butter and mashing herbs into it. Half of that gets spread under your skin, the other half goes into the cavity with fresh herbs, unless you're stuffing it, 1/3

Perfection here.

You can also place some fresh aromatics (herbs and quartered citrus fruit) in a catch pan under a wire rack. That’s if you spatchcock the turkey.

A little extra work, but helps tenderize the breast AND you can use the drippings as part of the baste

If you're ever looking at the market or in a restaurant and you see fish with Loin Cut or Captain's Cut or any fancy name beyond just the name of the fish, you're looking at what is most likely the best cut of the fish. The filet mignon of the fish.

The filet minnow, if you will

THIS WHOLE GODDAMN THREAD
In about 20 years, there will be an entire generation of young people who were radicalized by growing up watching this.

The phrases "acab" and "fuck capitalism" will roll off their tongues with ease
Dipshit is smashing out a car window with his gun, barrel first. Just rogue, cowboy stiff.

There were two US citizens in the car. They were apprehended and detained for “obstructing” ICE by honking their horn to let people know ICE was in the neighborhood.

It's not enough

We need the Super Hague
In 2028 I will vote for whoever will send Stephen Miller to The Hague.
79-year-old Paul Bojerski was born to Polish parents in a WWII German refugee camp. His family legally emigrated to the U.S. when he was 5.

He’s been taken by ICE in Florida.

Vanity Fair's West Coast Editor Olivia Nuzzi was a star political correspondent until scandal led her into exile—and to a California up in flames.

In an excerpt from her book, ‘American Canto,’ she takes stock of scorched earth.

City fees? I think you mean protection racket.
Beloved community fests have considered shutting down in the past few months, citing the rising costs of police patrols.

Yet elected officials, police-connected groups, and event organizers who cut special deals are exempt from city fees linked to street festivals, an Inquirer investigation found.
Philly street festivals are shutting down over rising police overtime costs. But some groups don’t have to pay.
