Xis joints had been repaired recently, so he was able to move quietly. It had been a very long time since xe had ministered to one of this man's kind, and he would likely never again, considering what became of them. The man's ears perked up as Ryn moved close, and then he turned around-hand resting very clearly on a sidearm. "I'm doing just fine." Ryn held xis hands up. "Forgive me," xe began, "I simply like to speak to everyone who enters, especially those I've never seen." He sized Ryn up, huffed a breath through his nose, and turned back around. "Go away. I'm praying." He was looking up, though. "For what?" Ryn asked. "Nothing you'd care about," he said. "Name's Ron, by the way." "Ryn, seems we might get confused," xe said, laughing quietly. "Right." Ron let the word hang. "Are you..." "Yes, I am a chaplain. I'm an early model Machine Monk, a ZZR-48," xe said, keeping his affect flat. Xe didn't like admitting that, but it seemed like- "The Orbital Drop line? THE Orbital Drop line?" Ron was animated again. A killer speaking with a killer, not xis favored method of bonding. "The very same. I gave all of that up, however, because there is value in peace," xe said. "Are you also on that path?" "No." "So what do you pray for?" "Nothing." Ryn shook xis head. "I'll ask a question, just one. Do you beseech, or do you repent?" "What's the difference?" Ron asked.

on employment as a trans woman
told the story before about how I only got any of the many low-level admin jobs I applied for once I stopped being honest about being trans I just didn’t say it and let them assume I was a cis girl, then just "forgot" to present my ID to HR until they forgot about it boom: respectable university job public-facing, too. not something they let trannies do if they can avoid it the thing that gets me is that I was going for charity and public sector shit, like these are supposed to be the good guys but I could see the transmisogyny manifest like a fucking aura when it came up the other method ofc was to sign up with a temp agency, because then you just get placed and you can temp to perm with people who have to let you work at least one day, even if they know you’re a tranny. and if you’re friendly and competent and normal, congrats, you can push through the latent TME tranny hate
