Everyone else sees this except the Dem leadership and corporate donors.

The government should not be policing the artistic or political expression of citizens, visitors, or anyone else.

Mark Carney’s decision to rescind Canada’s digital services tax is a cowardly move that shows Trump he can be pressured into making trade concessions.

It also shows how much Carney is willing to give into corporate demands, and particular those of the tech industry.

I remain convinced this is happening at all because our forebears who faced fascism in the mid 20th C. had all but died off, and we celebrated their heroism and sacrifice without talking about why it was absolutely necessary.
I cannot express this enough: If and when the tide turns away from fascism, you cannot mistake a ceasefire for peace. They never, ever want peace. You must persecute those responsible to the ends of the earth. You must make future generations fear a repeat of their fate.

political press is doing a real disservice by basically not reporting the nuances of public opinion on deportations, and creating the appearance that most americans support the stephen miller-style gestapo tactics
Should we deport people who have lived here for many years without committing any crimes? 61% no, 24% yes.

Should we should deport people as quickly as possible even if it means more mistakes, or do our best to make no mistakes even if it takes longer?

Quickly: 19%
Minimize mistakes: 74%

US: The gov has no discretion to refuse. He's merely a conduit. He can't be a roadblock. No summit, call him out to Camp David. No, there's one commander-in-chief of the armed forces, and when the pres makes a decision, states are subservient

"woke" apparently just means that you're an egalitarian. which yeah, if you are against an equal distribution of resources and status and believe in natural hierarchies and domination by the strong, you're a conservative! congrats!
Ross Douthat had the conservative writer Matthew Continetti on today. Seems like a bright enough guy but despite himself he revealed that "woke" means everything and nothing to the right
