Can’t find who shared it, but this really is an interesting piece. Something I was naive about when returning to the US is how many people really are struggling now, while working good jobs. It’s why a lot of liberal politics sounds like dipshittery- there’s no real sense of that, or why it matters.

Pues qué creen, a mi papá le va bien con el tratamiento, pero de repente mi mamá envejeció 10 años en los últimos dos meses. Ha perdido mucho peso, la veo muy débil, y se ve que no se está cuidando bien porque le dio el síndrome del túnel carpiano. Creo que ya no puede quedarse sola 😔.
Todo indica que mi papá tiene cáncer del pulmón. Dejó de fumar hace 50 años.
Tengo ganas de embriagarme, y escuchar música nihilista.

LLMs give people with delusional belief systems a way to organise those beliefs. The model fills in gaps, supplies connective tissue, and wraps the madness in formal language.
It doesn't make the claims more credible to us, it just tidies them up.
