Christmas day: duck or goose with red cabbage, dumplings or mashed potatoes, and boozy dried fruit.
More recently, my Dad has insisted on prime rib - it’s actually easier than the fowl.
Alternatively if I’m in Mexico: leftovers from Christmas Eve.

It’s interesting how some of y’all are having your main holiday meal on Christmas Eve.
Germans don’t do that, but Mexicans do, so what I have depends on where I am. Mexican Christmas Eve always involves tamales, salt cod, potato salad, and either roasted pork or turkey. Last year I made duck.

If I’m with family: cold dinner is traditional for us, fish is an absolute must, though instead of the traditional carp we have salmon.

I once saw a recipe for Sichuan hotpot with a whole turkey, using the bones and innards to make the broth, and I’m still hoping that someday someone invites me to a holiday party where they’re serving it.

Justo, no estaba listo para enfrentar lo que encontré al llegar, porque hace apenas dos meses y cacho todo era diferente.
La pregunta que nadie sabe contestar, es si podrá recuperar más independencia si logra recuperarse del túnel carpiano. La artritis en sus rodillas también le está afectando.

De hecho no viven juntos, pero se ayudan mutuamente a pesar de haberse divorciado hace 40 años. Definitivamente le está pesando mucho a ella, aunque no lo cuidaba todos los días. Acostumbraba hacerle de comer, ponerle tuppers, etc y de repente no puede 😔.
