Former musicologist. A little obsessed with games, cats, horror, and witchcraft. Chaotic bisexual. Incredible bibliophile. Disabled, ADHD, a little too nice for my own good. Will read tarot for you. She/they, genderqueer. (Art by StinaMarie).
If you're nowhere near Minneapolis/St. Paul and want to help, here are some resources for you. We can't do everything, but we all have to do SOMETHING.

I think this is such an important distinction & reminder

like I don't owe any allegiance to the systems and structures and the machinery of power, but there are fucking beautiful extraordinary amazing people in every corner of this country and to whatever degree I'm "patriotic" it's loyalty to them

Tonight, to celebrate nothing at all, my wife and I made peanut butter chocolate cookies. The recipe called for less flour and an extra egg yolk, to make the texture gooey, and it really worked. My portions continue to be suspect; I overcorrected and made 19 instead of 15. I'm still having fun.

I don't hold out hope for the World Cup moving locations (what with the FIFA Peace Prize and all) but I deeply, deeply hope that the US is barred from participating in the Olympics like they did for Russia. While I would feel terrible for all the competitors, we do indeed fucking deserve it.

semi-regular reminder that ICE was only created in 2003

when you are asked to imagine a world without ICE, you're basically being asked to remember where you were when Lilo & Stitch came out

The best thing we can do for Renee Good is to work together in her honor. We can't bring her back, but by gods we'll make sure she didn't die for nothing.
A gentle reminder in your grief that Renee Good was out there to protect her Black and brown neighbors from ethnic cleansing. That is still the mission.

The focus should remain on slowing down the ethnic cleansing campaign and on protecting Black and brown families and communities from destruction.

The only good thing about how stupid and evil this regime is that, with as much as they colossally fail, I'm getting really good at spelling "schadenfreude".

Cynicism leads to apathy and capitulation. Hope is dangerous; it leads to action. I know anything we do feels like a drop in the bucket. But tsunamis are also made of drops of water.

These are not the actions of a confident regime, but a desperate one. Keep chipping away; we can win.
When you succumb to the cynicism, you are helping Trump. He wants you to think that all is lost, that he is all powerful, and that there is nothing we can do.

The fight for democracy is hard, but it is worth having. We have shown we can stand tall. We have shown we can win.
Many of you have become drama-addicted doomers, and you seem to think it's important for the rest of us to join you.

Yes, things are bad. But change is within our power. Grow up. Act like sober, responsible adults in a democracy instead of cynical, all-is-lost teenagers.

Now get off my lawn.

gofund.me/e9227585d Posting this again because while it's amazing that we're stepping up for Renee Good's family, we also need to step up for Keith Porter's. He's a black man. He's not getting the same publicity. But he was still murdered, and he still matters.

Every woman has heard it.
I haven’t (and most likely won’t) watch the recently released video but I swear I can hear that “fucking bitch” in my head clear as day. The snarling hate and disgust. Every woman has heard it.

I have no words for all that's happening right now.

No words. Only rage.

Given that, I'm going to try and keep my mental health somewhat intact and spend less time on social media. Try to make some impact in the Meatspace instead. I love you all. Keep your chins up. We're not done yet.

Since the infighting and one-upsmanship has started--people who feel helpless + frustrated turn on each other, it's just a sad fact--remember: you don't have to like the people you fight alongside. Your comrades will say profoundly stupid bullshit to you, about you, etc. Let it roll off, keep going

Just found out my wife might be losing her job, so I'm desperately searching for work. Contract, full-time, freelance, whatever. Press, PR, consulting, anything. I have 16 years of editorial experience and have been writing about games for 13. Reviews, news, previews, guides, etc. RTs appreciated.

If I for some reason ever pass
And they try to make my wife a roommate
Or a shadow in my life
Let it be known she was my heart.
She was my everything.
Not a shadow
But the whole sun.

TRANS GIRL SCOUTS FTW! Help these kids feel included and loved in an environment that prepares them to thrive in the world. I can't think of a better program for any trans girl or NB kid. Girl Scouts are kind, loving, inclusive, capable, and they grow into POWERHOUSES. Let's help them grow!
1. Did you know that Girl Scouts has, for a long time, accepted trans girls and nonbinary scouts?

Trans kids are under attack. Every year, I make a thread of trans and nonbinary girl scouts you can get your cookies from.

Lets get our cookies from them this year in solidarity!

This year, consider ordering your Girl Scout cookies from a trans girl scout to make their day!

I know things are shit right now, but good people still exist. After six years of fighting, I was awarded Disability benefits today because of a judge and a lawyer who actually cared what happened to me. I can't believe it finally came through.

Goodnight friends! If you see this on your nightly scroll, will you please share it?

There's a whole lot happening right now, and it's easy for things to get lost in the shuffle. I also know seeing the same ask for help over and over can be annoying.

I'm sorry for that, but I have to keep asking 💜
Evening y'all! We're now $2980 shy of the whole goal, and just $1380 short of rent!

Will you please share this if you see it? The more folks who see it the better chance we have of reaching safe and secure!

I have been lying in bed for the last hour, unable to move because of severe depression. I finally muster the courage to come out to my computer, check my messages, and

and my will to live has left me again

Read a short story by @saratantlinger.bsky.social today. Threads of Epiphany. It made my little Pagan heart happy to watch Minna see that the Old Spirits are what we've made them after newer religions who come along and destroy what came before.

And it's gruesome. That's great too.
