I think this is such an important distinction & reminder
like I don't owe any allegiance to the systems and structures and the machinery of power, but there are fucking beautiful extraordinary amazing people in every corner of this country and to whatever degree I'm "patriotic" it's loyalty to them

Tonight, to celebrate nothing at all, my wife and I made peanut butter chocolate cookies. The recipe called for less flour and an extra egg yolk, to make the texture gooey, and it really worked. My portions continue to be suspect; I overcorrected and made 19 instead of 15. I'm still having fun.

Tonight, to celebrate nothing at all, my wife and I made peanut butter chocolate cookies. The recipe called for less flour and an extra egg yolk, to make the texture gooey, and it really worked. My portions continue to be suspect; I overcorrected and made 19 instead of 15. I'm still having fun.
I don't hold out hope for the World Cup moving locations (what with the FIFA Peace Prize and all) but I deeply, deeply hope that the US is barred from participating in the Olympics like they did for Russia. While I would feel terrible for all the competitors, we do indeed fucking deserve it.

The best thing we can do for Renee Good is to work together in her honor. We can't bring her back, but by gods we'll make sure she didn't die for nothing.
A gentle reminder in your grief that Renee Good was out there to protect her Black and brown neighbors from ethnic cleansing. That is still the mission.

I know things are shit right now, but good people still exist. After six years of fighting, I was awarded Disability benefits today because of a judge and a lawyer who actually cared what happened to me. I can't believe it finally came through.
