That’s the point.

LLM owners want exclusivity for institutional expertise, among other things, so they can charge everyone who wants to access it.

Wikipedia is one of their most hated foes since it provides free knowledge to the masses. And everyone should be supporting Wikipedia for that reason.

If LLM data centres that serve generative AI platforms were erased from the Earth…

…we’d be fine.

They prop up nothing of essential value we can’t do ourselves.

If we let them proliferate for a generation, we may lose institutional expertise.

Nobody will compensate you or pay your medical bills when you develop long COVID. Normies are not taking this into consideration as they go about pretending it's 2019.
Signing my kid up with the provincial archery body and, sure enough, the waivers include COVID19.

Why? Because insurance companies haven't forgotten.

I was in the last intake through the UK system before the £1K pa "top-up fee" came in, and this attitude is EXACTLY what my lecturers worried about, beyond the wider arguments around student finance. One said, "We can give you lot a bad mark and a bollocking. Next year, they'll demand a refund."

Universities are assembling larger and larger teams to deal with academic integrity issues--mostly focused on AI--while simultaneously holding AI "writing" contests, AI-themed events, "hey, come play with these fun tools!" The messages are so mixed, it's criminal. Because AI is bloated with money.

I take Wikipedia for granted. Reading this Jimmy Wales interview reminded me in our Fantasyland age what a remarkable and important creation it is. True pillar of civilization. Runs on only $200 million a year. Requires our support. So I’m finally donating. Gift link: www.nytimes.com/2025/10/18/m...

You do not have to repeat the words of bad faith actors verbatim. From Makary, Prasad and Hoeg at FDA, to Bhattcharya and Memoli at NIH, to RFK Jr. at HHS: letting them speak uncritically through you is a mistake. This is misinformation laundering, you are providing oxygen to help falsehoods thrive.

Agency needs privacy.
Until tech gives more agency to citizens, smart cities are a dumb idea for democracy. "While cities may disclose how they collect data, they rarely offer ways to opt out." "Residents want agency" #privacy #AIEthics

"No ceiling" results in what we have: a couple dozen psychopaths control several trillion dollars and the power has made them go stark raving mad. They are obsessed with using their concentrated wealth to punish the population and remake the country into a failed state and international pariah.
No value, no villain, no vision. Sounds like the tagline for the earnings call of a collapsing appliance retailer
