Isn't this also a question of local vs global trending? Adjusting the weights for Geo+Time+Personal Preference might better surface what people expect more quickly. Otherwise, trending will always feel out of touch.

We honestly take zero action on trends in T&S, and haven't removed an item to date. I can clearly see it as item 10 on web where you get a longer tail of trending items. So while I hear your frustration, it likely needs another tweak to surface items people expect for recency.

I recommend not watching the videos, which are chaotic and gut-wrenching, and instead going through Bellingcat's analysis.

This man appeared to be zero threat, while the officers were overly-aggressive, agitated, and clearly primed to used lethal force.

Reminder: All it would take to end the murder of American citizens by an untrained government goon squad is 16 Republicans in Congress voting with Dems to defund ICE (or 23 to impeach and remove Trump — 3 in House & 20 in Senate). That’s it. 23 Americans can vote for the public and end all of this.

Occasionally we get tiny Goldcrests in the garden, hunting for insects amongst the evergreens. They’re resident in Britain, but some Goldcrests cross the North Sea to escape the harsher continental winters; people used to believe they rode on the backs of migrating Woodcocks. (watercolour)
