For anyone who works in journalism and wonders what to do in the face of increasing pressure from the Trump regime to 'comply in advance', here is your answer. To quote John Oliver, when confronted by bullies and tyrants the only words that you need are, "fuck you, make me".

the question to ask about this is, okay, he wants to cancel the midterms. how does he get the VA state board of elections to cancel the midterms? how does he get the georgia board of elections to do it? how does he convince republican house members to quit their jobs and give up their paychecks?
Trump says a lot of deranged shit, but, per this Reuters article — and the threats of invoking the Insurrection Act in Minnesota this morning — he is very clearly exploring how to cancel the midterms.

Yep, 'canceling elections' is just not a thing. We have never canceled a national election in this country due to a war or any other reason. We even had a national election in 1864, during the Civil War. If we can do it then than we can certainly do it now; no matter how much Trump doesn't want to.

So it's official then, the FBI has taken control of the murder investigation of Renee Good and is trying to lock local state law enforcement out of the case. They're going to slow walk this and hope that folks forget about it (we won't). At some point, the FBI will exonerate ICE of wrongdoing.

As someone who does this exact sort of volunteer work this hits very close to home. I'm struggling very hard to say something constructive which won't get me kicked off of this site. I'm just going to take a break, listen to some punk rock, and scream a bit. Stay safe out there folks.

Do not allow yourself to be distracted. Yes, Trump starting illegal wars is horrible but we need to remain focused on the Epstein files. They underpin everything; if we can bring those into the light of day the entire house of cards will collapse. Do not forget, do not forgive.

That way when the court-martial comes around and asks him “what did you do in response to this obviously illegal order” he could’ve said “I went to the brig rather than follow it” and he would’ve been exonerated.
Now? Well, now he won’t. War crime.
