Updating our Growth Plan: City of Regina Official Community Plan
The City of Regina is updating the current Growth Plan. Regina is growing faster and differently than projected when the Official Community Plan (OCP) was first introduced in 2013. By 2051, Regina is ...

Personally I’d like to see all handguns and high capacity weapons completely illegal. Thee is absolutely no reason for anyone who isn’t going to use them to murder humans to have that shit.

Want rifles for hunting food/hides? What’s called “sport”? Fill your boots.

All the seasonal fiction looks like a bunch of scripts for Hallmark movies. Can I please find some Christmas fiction that isn't going to just be predictable fiction? (And yes, I already have Dickens.) Library suggestions welcome! #ChristmasReading #BookSky

Rashovich hasn't even looked at the document yet about the 5% and yet he's still so sure that everyone could cut 5% no problem in their own budgets. Then off on a fluouride tangent. Anyone else think he sounds completely out of touch on CBC SK BlueSky? #yqrcc

Not that it makes the concern less valid, but how many people actually visit the Floral Conservatory? You'd think by the outrage that it was one of the top destinations. In reality, it sees 20,000 visitors per year in a met area of 250k. Maybe they do need to start charging admission. #yqr

what's that famous quote about political apathy?

A lot of people are getting outraged about the Floral Conservatory being on the list to cut. It not decided yet obviously, but we can't look at these things in isolation. We gave $7M to Costco earlier this year. We gave Semple his bar on the REAL grounds for petty cash. It's all related. #yqrcc

Point being… I think some councillors have a pretty over-stuffed idea of their own importance. And far from escaping the supposedly toxic atmosphere of last council, this new council has just created their own style of slightly subtler toxicity. /14 #yqrcc

So much of our infrastructure, planning, environmental, and road safety measures seem to be based around politicians' fear of slightly inconveniencing easily-angered motorists. Pedestrians, cyclists, and public transport users are barely considered in their calculations.

It's always in the budget. #yqrcc
“In my work with cities, one of my messages that resonates most is that the truth about the cities aspirations isn’t found in its plans and visions. It’s found in its budget.

A budget may be the most powerful public policy lever a Council has, and the most authentic one because It reveals so much.”

guess I'm built different, every time I'm out trying to see night sky stuff I frequently think about how much light pollution is entirely preventable with just a tiny bit of regulation

Folks have been telling me they’ve noticed I’ve gotten “a lot more political” on social media this year.

Of course I have.

The circumstances have gotten nightmarishly worse, and the consequences of inaction and staying silent infinitely more obvious.

Everyone needs to get “a lot more political.”

If you want to see what any govt values, don't look at what they say. Look at the budget to see what they prioritize. Municipal, provincial AND federal, if you want to see what your govt values, it is in the budget. #yqrcc #skpoli #cdnpoli

Pepper spray is also illegal in Canada. It is classed as a prohibited weapon under the Criminal Code.
Well-meaning Americans in my mentions: kindly do not recommend extremely illegal actions that could land people in the UK with a ten year prison sentence
