Canadian inflation stayed flat at 2.2% yet food prices rose at a staggering 4.7%. What that tells me is that grocery chains are greedy and they take advantage of the holiday season to gouge Canadians. Especially Galen Weston Jr. and Roblaws. Their prices are much higher.

I'm going to lightly tweet delegation presentations. Most of those can be found on the agenda page anyway. I'll focus my tweeting on council Qs and save my fingers for when they begin debating things in earnest. #yqrcc

Davies: In my interpretation, I haven't had chance to dig into their report fully & can't verify other services' data. First thing is number represent gross not net budget. Our net budget relies on funding from province & federal budget. Our budget is 17% of city budget. #yqrcc

Davies: Claim that our budget is 33% of city budget is just not accurate. When look at per capita comparisons, when in smaller cities, the per capita number is larger. Facilities are spread over larger population in larger cities. #yqrcc

Davies: I don't know enough about their services. But when have fewer people in city, per capita cost looks higher. #yqrcc

Now, council can't actually change the RPS budget at this point. They can only pass it or send it back to the police board. But I've heard rumblings that council may be looking at all these years of unchallenged police budgets & be thinking, now's the time to send their budget back. #yqrcc

Mthembu: Sure. We shouldn't be overflating a budget that's over inflating. We should be investing in things that fix problem. More police is not helping. #yqrcc
