The more my life has shrunk, the more I'm thankful for every moment I get to be alive. Still, I'm scared. So many of us w/ME are out here, invisible in our homes, trying to survive with no good treatment options. Please support ME & Covid causes, even if it's just raising awareness. We need allies.
Sadly, ME and Long Covid have taken another bright light.

Megan was creative, spunky, intelligent, kind, and beautiful. In the end, she was barely able to exist because of severe ME and Long Covid.

Please don’t let anyone convince you that viruses are harmless

Beautiful and refreshingly upfront piece on the social isolation of living with Long Covid by Philip Hoover.

“If community-building is a bulwark against autocracy, then asking after one another might be a good place to start…What are you going through? How is your heart, at this very breath?”

This is obscene.

That others in politics can’t or won’t say that this is obscene hits at the heart of the problems we face.

Please engage in disability justice.

Listen to the concerns of disabled people who speak out about these programs.

Fight for our right to a dignified life instead of only fighting for a dignified death.

Kishwer Falkner giving a masterclass in the way fascists dehumanise minorities to foment hatred/eradication of them.

Transphobia is fascism.
Kishwer Falkner in The Times talking about the rights of "biological people". As compared to trans people, who are, of course, non-biological.

there is no natural golden ratio of abled to disabled ppl, and no upper cap on what percentage of population can be disabled. if you sicken and injure enough ppl, and destroy accessibility of public life in a hostile and unsupported society so a wider and wider range are excluded, the skys the limit

Day 1072—Why does ME/CFS score so low in quality of life? Because it stunts one's ability to perform daily activities. You can't function. You can't attend functions. Try as you might to carefully pace, PEM crashes are inevitable—and severe. So you remain. Alive but not living; barely even here.

The highest calling of journalism isn’t to tell two sides of a story.

The highest calling of journalism is to tell the truth.

And acting like a stenographer is a betrayal of your audience.
Unfortunately, in US journalism it is considered neutral to spread a lie, but it is considered "biased" to call out a lie. So, there is a structural asymmetry that rewards colorful lies with virality.

It’s tiresome and repetitive but I think it may be imperative every time fascism tells this fundamentally antisemitic lie that every Jew who knows even a bit of what’s what—I know a bit—says explicitly “this isn’t for me. It’s against me & everyone human.”
Statement from U.S. AG Pam Bondi:

“Today’s settlement marks another victory in the Trump Administration’s fight to ensure that American educational institutions protect Jewish students and put merit first…

🗣️Gender-affirming care saves lives! #TransRightsAreHumanRights🏳️‍⚧️
1. A landmark study was just published in The Journal of Pediatrics.

It found a 68% reduction in suicidality for trans youth getting HRT.

It also found only 7 of more than 400 stopped taking HRT... and of those that did, 4 still identified as gender-diverse.

Transgender care saves lives.
Study In The Journal Of Pediatrics Finds Trans Youth Care Lowers Suicidality, Few Detransition
The groundbreaking study found that suicidality dropped for transgender youth receiving hormone therapy by nearly 70%, with only 7 patients of 432 discontinuing treatment.

Wise words. COVID is not over. There are only so many hits the body can take before it short circuits. #LongCovid is a living hell.

We need systemic change in how #COVID-19 is managed to stem the spread and ongoing harm.
COVID-19 has not disappeared. It continues to spread, disable, and disrupt lives - yet national strategies still appear to fail to acknowledge its persistence or the need for stronger infection prevention... open.substack.com/pub/joepajak...

If no one in your timeline is grieving the loss of Alice Wong today then you’re not hearing from enough disabled people or even people who listen to disabled people.

That’s a massive segment of society to which you will likely belong some day. Might want to turn an ear toward them sooner than later

and when this all comes out a lot of people are going to be surprised who did what to GIRLS & BOYS. CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULTS.

I’m making this because the gaslighting being done by “apologists” is INSANE and it’s meant to make us feel that way.

Please vote for the Epstein Transparency Act
