As I’ve said several times, you could replace anyone in the current cabinet with either member of the Insane Clown Posse and we’d be better off

Whoop whoop
I’d prefer anyone else, really. Bam Margera, Sabrina Carpenter, Jordan Balfort, basically any other living American would be better

Awful. Trump admin is deporting a 23-year-old NC woman who came here at the age of 14 as an unaccompanied minor. Her father was murdered and mother died of cancer. All she has are two traffic citations, per this report from Charlotte Observer's Dan Kane:

Periodic reminder that states routinely hang on to money from old bank accounts, unclaimed insurance, uncashed checks, security deposits, etc. If you're home with family this week, check to see if there's money your relatives can claim! States have individual sites but this is a good place to start.

The Trump administration’s cuts to AIDS funding will result in roughly 3 million additional deaths over the next five years.

Cutting Medicaid will destabilize our healthcare infrastructure — the most vulnerable will be forced off their coverage, people with insurance will have to pay more, and everyone in between will face hospital closures and a weakened healthcare system. This is a lose-lose situation. #impeachthequack

NINE YEAR FAJITA HEIST

(technically nine year fajita fraud scheme but I'm counting this as a heist because it's funny enough)
I remember seeing a story years ago where a prison cook was caught having stolen $1.2 million of fajitas over 9 years.

One week he took off sick, someone else answered the order call and was like "what are you talking about? We don't serve fajitas."

Gilberto Escamilla had stolen more than $1.2 million worth of fajitas over the course of approximately nine years.

For at least a year, I've been returning to the question, how would you know when it's time to leave the US? For this piece, I asked trans, nonbinary, and genderqueer Americans who, with their families and partners, have recently fled the country, about how they made this decision and how they left.
When Is It Time to Flee?
Trans people and their families are facing hard questions and choices as threats to their safety and rights proliferate.

For non-lawyers: this is the largest sanction against an attorney for frivolous conduct that I've ever heard of*. When attorneys are sanctioned $10-$20k is a big deal. This is a MASSIVE deal.

*- not counting the slightly different issue of defendants having their answer struck for misconduct.
NEW: An unanimous appeals court panel — authored by conservative Judge William Pryor and joined by Trump appointee Andrew Brasher — upheld a $1 million sanction againt Trump/Habba for filing a "frivolous" lawsuit against Hillary Clinton

It's a little alarming that this article about bad AI summaries begins with Bloomberg's AI summary of its own article
NEW: AI “recipe slop” is overrunning search and social. Food creators say Google’s AI Overviews and glossy fake food pics are drowning out real, tested recipes — collapsing traffic and setting home cooks up for disaster, especially this Thanksgiving.

Earlier today, I needed to find articles about an event from the 1990s. A few years ago, Google would have been pretty good at this. Now the results are full of slop websites and YouTube videos promising me the REAL story about what happened. Guys, I just need a contemporaneous magazine article
Google at its peak was basically the best information retrieval system in human history and they and every competitor decided going from there to “you didn’t want answers you wanted half-assed auto-complete 80%-wrong hallucinations” in a few years was the right idea
