I will say among people I've worked with professionally, there's technical disagreement all the time (which is good), but there's absolutely zero disagreement on lock poisoning. I haven't seen this kind of unanimous opinion in a long time

FWIW I've been using Fastmail for 15 years and it just works. It's not the kind of company that'll force-feed you dumbfuckery. I also hear good things about Proton (their drive product is definitely good).
