Regardless of how one feels about the actual meaning behind this, it's a terrible slogan because it's a metaphor that the average person won't understand. There is no ambiguity about "Make America Great Again," as stupid as it is.
No value, no villain, no vision. Sounds like the tagline for the earnings call of a collapsing appliance retailer

Some bad news. The great film and culture writer Nathan Rabin was in a serious car accident. He is expected to recover, but he has a rough path ahead. Now is a great time to buy his new book (I just did, looks cool!) - a thorough investigation of movies about movies.

West Wing captured some of this tension. Bartlett was always dealing with political consequences of being an open intellectual. Clinton had the intellectual background but mostly tamped it down
We have got to make politics intellectual again. It is the only way that societies thrive is when politicians have the capability to actually think and reflect deeply:

Grandma, for the last time, I will not go to the orthodontist on Small Business Saturday. The orthodontic practice does not count as a small business.

Einstein Bros bagels at midway airport: the worst breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had and the worst coffee I’ve ever had. Honestly impressive to have both in one order

Make Some Noise on Dropout is so addictive. Everyone looks down on short-form improv like Whose Line but these guys found a way to make it really good entertainment

When people start thinking more about the arc of Noah Baumbach's career I think Jay Kelly will eventually come to be seen as underrated or more interesting than it was given credit for. Has a bit of a King of Marvin Gardens vibe?

If Thomas Pynchon finally gave an interview at age 88, who would be the ideal interviewer? Somehow it would make sense if it was Letterman. Two wiseass American icons, one a TV legend and the other a legendary TV addict

I know a way to reclaim em-dashes from AI. Just use the double dash method like this -- instead of the option-shift-dash keyboard shortcut that the large language models use (—).

Let -- reign as the human em-dash

Are people out there serving turkey *and* ham at Thanksgiving? I’ve never heard of that, I don’t understand why ham would be involved if you’re already serving a turkey
with charity and goodwill, i must here part ways with rolls.

Character in Shadow Ticket suggesting that the Depression happening at the same time as the rise of talkies was an op to kill vaudeville. God bless this octogenarian American treasure
