👋 hi, since I haven’t done an intro - I LOVE systems and how people interact with them. It’s why I explore documentation, automation, security and astro. It’s why I have strong opinions about the entire process tree and different tools. Severe ADHD made it a must-learn so I’ll help where I can ❤️
I have threatened my laptop with a salt bath, and an office space treatment….

I do this ish for a living, I am an AI developer and researcher, and *I* don’t fully understand the security implications. What hope do regular users have?

On this Remembrance Day, I invite those who remember the sacrifices of veteran to take an approach I grew up with: remembering why the World Wars happened, reading the Flanders Field poem, and that the whole point is the value of freedom. (Not fascism, etc.)

Know what? Going back to silly maritimer news.

Tonight on Live at 5pm: did my kid move on from crying while making birthday cards because he was putting on his favourite kitty stickers and “I’m so sad! I love them but they’ll love them more!” To … straight up stuffed kitty theft from his school?

I wish I could write my paper on hackers & computer evolution as if it's small blurbs of 'wtf?!'. I'm already over the page count and I'm not even done structuring the technical history of computers/internet technology/PLCs, civilian vs military & how both went 'defence? pfft later probs.' 🫠

If you ever think nukes are “cool for the physics” - I would say should also be required to read “The Making of The Atomic Bomb” as goes into gory, horrific detail the awful deaths and experiences of bomb survivors. (Yes, the physics is neat. But no, we shouldn’t have nukes)
The American people do not want war and we certainly do not want nuclear war.

Baby Kitty wanted to get in on the photo trend with a stunning #sunset on the walk home. While the days can be crazy, a sunset always grounds me.

Plus, how flipping cute is the kitty?! I mean, really - insta-stress dissolver!

The things I do for my kid… paint by number kitty on acrylic
October 25, 2025 at 2:04 AM
While I traditionally have done oil or water colours - paint by numbers allows me to get some painting in without completely ditching homework.

Then this challenge came in. Kiddo wanted the kitty. This is round 2 after all the lessons of round 1 were washed off 🥲

At this point I think reflective gear should be a generally good idea as the days get darker. Things that help for drivers (and easy as a pedestrian):
- LED cross-body lights
- reflective hook loop clips
- reflective backpack covers-also rain resistant!
- reflective arm/leg bands
- bright colours
Traffic Advisory - Road users, keep your eyes open and stay alert as we face rainy conditions in the HRM we haven't seen in a long time!

Pedestrians, it is dark and slippery this morning. Be seen before crossing the road. Motorists, slow down and turn on all your lights!

For all the comments about AWS being down and hitting a bunch of services: it’s not exactly that Amazon is powerful, but that people really love skipping the “HOW could bad things happen?” questions. From security to site reliability, demand more paranoid assessments 🥲
