In Sept. of 2023, I witnessed what was in my eyes the perfect storm. This intricately-structured, highly-electric supercell danced under a sky full of stars, looming over the landscape like the Mind Flayer while producing multiple funnels, bursts of sprites, and a barrage of lightning. #Photography

Wow:

Federal judge strikes down Counts 3 and 4 of the federal indictment against Luigi Mangione, which means Attorney General Pam Bondi's political ploy to turn the murder of Brian Thompson into a federal capital case has failed big time.

A strange but true finding about NYC congestion pricing:

Drivers’ time savings have overwhelmingly gone to those traveling *outside* the toll zone (i.e., driving from Brooklyn to Queens or within NJ) – not those headed into Manhattan.

Me, in Bloomberg 🧵
Congestion Pricing’s Unexpected Winners: Suburban Drivers
NYC’s controversial toll program hasn’t just sped up trips inside Manhattan, a new paper finds. It’s easing traffic in outer boroughs and neighboring counties.

Want to get depressed on a Thursday evening? Grab some scotch and look at old "original intent" maps of transit systems.

Here is PATH from the 70s-- right after the Port Authority took over the struggling system. Imagine what the region would look like today if this were implemented. 😥

This is huge news. I have spent the past 6 months wondering wtf was up with Amazon: they filed 380,000 AI-related CyberTipline reports to NCMEC in the first half of 2025.

Turns out ALL of it was known CSAM they found by screening their AI training data. It's NOT AI-generated or AI-morphed CSAM.

New for @teenvogue.com (!)

The young immigrant women workers of Lawrence won the 1912 Bread and Roses strike because of solidarity—which is also exactly how the people of Minnesota built the durable and inspiring resistance network we all saw on January 23, 2026.

If you have songs, albums, compilations etc. out where you donate the proceeds to a good cause, post them here.
Doesn't matter if it's big or small; I'll boost everything on the 6th!
