From me in 2016 when this was first floated: “This is a great plan. The novellas are short chivalric romances that offer neat little stories …They deploy familiar storytelling elements, are filled with excellent action set pieces, and center around two fun characters.”

“many angry posts should have been naps or little packets of crackers” is deep wisdom and you don’t need to reproduce to embrace it!
one unexpected outlook change from being a dad is taking the self care people 10x more seriously when it comes to dealing with weirdly directed anger and rage (including Online). many angry posts should have been naps or little packets of crackers

One of the things that's wild about MAHA on social media is they're also vilifying Pedialyte and Ensure.

So not only do they want you to not do anything that can stop you from getting sick (masking, vaccinating) they also don't want you to effectively treat yourself once you are sick.

If anything, accusations of pro-Trump media bias in 2024 were grossly understated. It's a remarkably clear tell that the media has gone from breathlessly obsessed with Biden's age and health to utterly disinterested in Trump's (clearly much worse and actually disqualifying) age and health.
The President of the United States appears to be getting regular IV infusions, the public doesn’t know anything about it, & the DC media evidently doesn’t care.

We are months into the mystery of Trump’s hands, the White House is lying, & I’ve seen a grand total of one serious news story about it.
Trump looked pretty rough today -- note that both of his hands are discolored

Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

NM "has the highest proportion of private equity-owned hospitals in the country at 38% — the national average is 8%."

I often find my local paper problematic. And paying them for news means I get to learn important things like this.
Only a small minority of New Mexico physicians are responsible for most malpractice payments, according to an analysis of the National Practitioner Data Bank, a federal repository of data about malpractice payments and physician disciplinary actions.
1% of New Mexico doctors responsible for half of $68 million in malpractice payments in state

Make sure to grab PDFs or whathaveyou from the online publications you've published in. Use archive.org for things that have already gone missing. Publications are removing articles that that disagree with the present US regime.
Hello repro writers from the mid to late 20 teens - I just discovered Cosmopolitan at some point pulled almost every politics/repro story from the 5 years I wrote for them offline (except two, which they put under someone else's name and gave me "additional reporting" which it very much was not)

One of the most incredible shots I've ever gotten, in Yellowstone. This coyote walked over a ridge in the blowing snow and posed for me, with a small grin on its face, the snowfalkes like stars in the background.

The desolation and beauty of life and nature is grounding, and so good for the soul.
