Some good news: A little girl from the same Minneapolis-area school district as Liam Conejo Ramos was released from a Texas ICE detention facility late Tuesday.

Elizabeth Zuna Caisaguano, a 4th grader, had been locked up there with her mom since Jan. 6. www.huffpost.com/entry/trump-...

this unprecedented momentum behind a single issue sure might be a useful fulcrum to try and wrench this country back from over the brink
74% of Democrats support abolishing ICE, with 53% *strongly* supporting it, according to YouGov polling from last month.

Weak calls for "reform" are coming from *elected* Democrats like Chuck, not the average Democratic voter.
Democrats want commonsense reform for ICE:

End the roving patrols and racial profiling.

Take accountability and abide by the same rules as local police.

Masks need to come off, body cameras need to stay on—no secret police in the United States of America.

Right passed the park now and a little girl maybe 5 years old got out of the car. She's saying "oww" and coughing, an older woman with her rushed her inside

“Children were in the crowd screaming.”
Just experienced the most intense tear gassing of my life by federal officers outside the ICE facility in Portland where marchers gathered. There was no fast exit as they indiscriminately threw loads of gas and flash bangs. Children were in the crowd screaming. @oregoncapitalchronicle.com

Things I learned from living with 22 yo from Turkey: Anatolian curses are passed mother to daughter and even transition won’t save you, and in Turkey the stereotype of an annoying liberal has pink hair and not blue

Alex Pretti was a colleague at the VA. We hired him to recruit for our trial. He became an ICU nurse- I lover working with him. He was a good kind person who lived to help and these fuckers executed him.

Reminder: All it would take to end the murder of American citizens by an untrained government goon squad is 16 Republicans in Congress voting with Dems to defund ICE (or 23 to impeach and remove Trump — 3 in House & 20 in Senate). That’s it. 23 Americans can vote for the public and end all of this.

Driving away from Minneapolis today, with a heart both heavy and full. And I'm thinking about how the fascists claim to be fighting in the name of Christianity... They're making this big deal of a protest at a church. They're making these targeted arrests, claiming that anti-ICE is antireligious.

Absolutely endless monster behavior from ICE & CBP. Detaining parents seeking urgent healthcare for their kids and who, in this case, had petitioned for asylum. All at the same hospital where they shot two people earlier this month.

I've talked to people on the ground about the strike here tomorrow, and the single thing everyone brings up is just how shockingly wide the support for the strike is. Businesses that no one would have expected to support it are doing so.
National media should really be covering the fact thay every major school, museum, and arts institution in the Twin Cities, and hundreds of local businesses are closed tomorrow to protest federal occupation.

Nothing like this at this scale has happened anywhere in America anytime in living memory.
