Stranger Things is one of those shows you need a scorecard for while watching. Currently looking up "will they kill Robin" spoilers since they left her off the darn promo posters.

SHE'S LIVE ⚓

endlessly grateful to @nellraban.com, @finnsleif.bsky.social, and Justin for their guidance and patience with me as we worked to bring this version of Sayyida Al Hurra to life. Sorry to get sappy but she was truly a privilege to write :')

Okay, time to track down a comic.
If the comic this is based on is indicative of its quality, I wouldn't be surprised if this turns out to be even better than Superman.
What a time for a DC Comics fan to be alive.

James clearly gets Supergirl. Supergirl is one of the most tragic figures in comics. Clark only remembers Earth. Kara watched everyone she loved die, but was spared so she could raise baby Clark. But time dilation meant he was an adult by the time she arrived. She has pain without purpose.

Forgot how well done Stranger Things is. Skipped Season 4 because the Kate Bush song went too viral too fast. Came back for Season 5 because Robin kissing girls and Robin Will queer solidarity went viral.

This is the thing.

Everywhere they try this, they get pushback, and mockery. The mockery, and the shaming matter.

Working for CBP, and ICE, needs to be demoralising.

Democrats can’t meaningfully claim to oppose Donald Trump while simultaneously pushing bad internet bills like KOSA, EARN IT, Section 230 limitations, and online ID laws, that *empower* the Trump administration to further censor, surveil, and prosecute marginalized people.

Lunar New Year. Rest 'til then.
A lot of ppl New Year’s resolutions fail because winter is the time we’re supposed to be resting. The real new year is in the spring.

Tryna set resolutions and goals during this time sets you up for failure imo because that’s not what this season is for.

Getting involved with your local Library & helping it is one of the best things you can do. Great post on this topic: organizingmythoughts.org/you-cant-fig...

One good sign for shame making a comeback is that people seem content to use AI to secretly do stuff for themselves but get horrified when others brag about using it.
It's truly wild to me that this just keeps happening. Coca-Cola runs an AI ad and people overwhelmingly react with disgust. They do it again, and people are disgusted again. Now McDonald's makes an AI ad that's so bad that so many people are furious about it they pull it down.

People hate AI slop!

As someone who works in the tech industry--absolutely.

They are testing the waters. These are top-down orders. The ONLY way to stop it is a visceral negative reaction. Write articles. Post your rage. Email. Post. @. All those things.

Only you have the power to kill it.
Let me give some insight on this, as a producer in the dub industry who worked with major streamers, who's witnessed first-hand where this push for AI is coming from.

tl;dr: Only CEOs want this. Tell them how much you hate it. Be loud, email, call, @, post. You will kill this.

🧵⬇️
The only thing less human than these AI dub performances is the decision to sign off on them

A company this big can pay human actors a decent wage, not produce slop that intentionally removes the human element.
