Q. Who is Polanski a danger to?
It's probably not you. Unless you are one of the 1%.
Striking in this debate hosted by @krishgm.bsky.social how many people in the comments are saying that a wealth tax at this point is so obvious.

Is it any surprise that the Labour Governments response is to continually try and take swipes at the Green Party?

Some quick pointers for the government
🚨Asylum seekers are not, by any measure, "illegal migrants"
🚨The latest immigration stats have pretty much nothing to do with this government

The country wants a wealth tax on assets.

They're panicking because "won't the rich just leave" has been utterly debunked.

They've got no actual argument.

What they say, what they do.

U-turn and retreat.

Which of workers' rights will be next?
Worth noting that the same day these negotiations to ditch day one rights to claim unfair dismissal were going on (Monday), No 10 told us they would "overturn all attempts to scupper these plans, including watering down day one protection from unfair dismissal".

@zackpolanski.bsky.social is warning you.

Medical professionals (Consultants, Doctors, Nurses) have been warning you.

So please do not turn around within the next 5 years and say 'why did no one warn us'.

Reading the whole thread makes it make sense.
One of the issues with immigration statistics, and don't get me wrong they have their uses, is that they lack context, and does the reporting around them. You can't just look at a particular increase or decrease, you need to look at why it has happened and potential impacts for it to make sense 1/

Obviously this piece is lacking in quite a lot of information, however, statistically if people are being stuck in lorries to leave the UK they aren't being "smuggled" they are being trafficked, a whole other thing. That seems like a pretty crucial thing to clarify.

Why Reeves budget is a failure. The tax raised won't help living standards or stop the decline in services. It will pay off the Bank of England debts, and protect her arbitrary and restrictive fiscal rules.

Who will they blame when they can no longer blame the migrants.

- children
- pensioners
- disabled

Yet the government make all the political decisions.

We, the voters (and even the non voters), can change that. No tactical voting, no voting for the lesser evil.

The cost will be borne by the environment, the workers and those who live in these areas.

Same old playbook. Same old and very tired politics. Same old failed systems.

Voters get the opportunity to change all that. It's up to us, next May and the next GE.
The can has been well and truly kicked down the road. @greenparty.org.uk and @zackpolanski.bsky.social in power would tax wealth and and at least attempt to fix it. Reform in power would give more tax cuts to their rich cronies, and make it much much worse. #VoteGreen
The tax rises in this Budget’s are backloaded.

They're largely kick in in what is likely to be a pre-election year, somewhat implausibly.
