Most people are underestimating how aggressively this regime is organizing to suppress votes ahead of the midterms.

For the far right, winning them is existential.

An experimental finding sure to shock: white evangelicals are especially attuned to slights against Christians, but significantly less likely to view same actions as discriminatory when against a religious out-group. And this double-standard is unique to white evangelicals. doi.org/10.1111/jssr...

Two women trained as first responders were abducted by three ICE agents. One of the agents starts seizing. The other two don’t know what to do. The women jump into action and save the agent’s life, only to be re-handcuffed and processed.

The women say they guided agents through the emergency, later raising concerns about medical protocols, weapons safety and accountability.

The fact that ICE has now murdered multiple white American citizens in #Minneapolis is unveiling that the same racialized state violence built to target Black & Brown people spills over to white people resisting the status quo. Black people have lived this our entire time in this land. #LinkArms

God is clear about the sins of kidnapping (man-stealing), murder, and bearing false witness.

God is clear about his care for foreigners, neighbors, the poor, and those on the margins.

Righteousness, justice, mercy, and love for neighbor are not conditional standards for Jesus' followers.

At this point the tragedy is not his decline, its that his advisors care so little for him as a person that they have not stepped in to help.

They would rather he humiliate himself internationally so they can push through their own agendas in a plausible deniable way.

Ice needs to be abolished
This is Liam Ramos. The five year old that ICE took from a Minneapolis school and sent BY HIMSELF WITHOUT HIS FAMILY to a detention facility in Texas. There are monsters among us and they are wearing masks, carrying guns, and work for the US government.

Ben Luhmann, who filmed this, is one of the two high schoolers from a conservative Christian family I rode along with in Chicago when they were searching for ICE agents there.

When I asked him how his faith informed his efforts to document ICE/DHS, he told me this. religionnews.com/2025/11/25/h...

To defend the societal domination in which it was birthed and to which it remains bound, white churches have always been quick to abandon moral obligations for legal technicalities.

It'd be foolish to expect anything different today.

NYT: China mobilized thousands of fishing boats twice in recent weeks to form massive floating barriers at least 200 miles long — a show of Beijing’s power at sea, experts say. Last week, the formation was so dense that some approaching cargo ships had to zigzag through, ship-tracking data showed.

I don’t think people quite understand that the occupation by ICE in the Twin Cities has more or less erased non-white people from public life. They cannot safely exist in any space accessible to the public and moving between private places leaves folks vulnerable to kidnapping by armed masked goons.

Man, Du Bois had some bangers, but for me, it doesn't get much better than his scathing indictment of the "Christianity" of the United States.

Certainly this was all true of the nation in his lifetime. But in my lifetime, his criticisms have never felt so true of the nation right now.
