Saddened at the devastation caused by hurricane Melissa.
The death toll, the destruction of livelihoods and communities is crushing. Exhausted at the thought of relief work and rebuilding.
Lord, be near, esp through your people. Stir up in us compassion and empathy. Keep our hearts soft.
Yes! Love Peter. Thankful for his impact with IV and at TEDS.
Thankful for these leaders and pioneers who paved the way for Asian American Christian leaders in various spheres of ministry.

Mavs have no PG so every team playing the Mavs looks like they're being coached by prime VCU Shaka Smart.

Per Torah, good laws are righteous & just (Deut 4:5-8).
Laws serve the care, protection, & thriving of humanity - all humanity.
Laws serve people, not the other way around.
Laws used for the exercise of power or discrimination are not righteous or just. Believers should work to change such laws.
Mavs are lost on offense & weak on defense.
The Kidd no PG offense is stagnant & disorganized.

D was supposed to be a strength, but the Spurs & Wiz seemed pretty comfortable scoring on them.
Not too early to worry.

At least Flagg flashed tonight.🤷🏻‍♂️

Those who think the Bible rigidly teaches obedience to human laws misunderstand God's heart.

God's law reveals his character & care/love for humanity.
When a law is unjust, the LORD changes it (Num 27).

We should not obey unjust laws or human agendas counter to Jesus' way. (Acts 4). 📜

This past Sunday, I was encouraged to hear a thoughtful and meaningful word on immigration.
Thankful to hear Barry bring together Scripture, theology, and ecclesiology in relecting on how we can love immigrants and understand migration in line with God's heart.

When blessings overflow, thanksgiving is organic and natural.

In hard seasons, it takes intentional reflection to see all the ways in which God is loving, faithful, kind, good, and gracious.

God is always there with me. Jesus is the friend who carries me through. These truths keep me anchored.⚓
While many Christians can articulate a theologically-informed view of who the Spirit is and what he does, many don't allow him to actually do what he has been sent to do.
Much of our power/control issues is rooted in desiring to change & control people and thus usurping the Spirit's role.
Thankful for Moses Lee 's thoughtful piece. He articulates well some important insights for those seeking to better address cultural divides.
His integration of the biblical and theological in a culturally intelligent manner is timely.

Meritocracy is the subtle poison that prevents many American Christians from fully embracing the depths of grace, mercy, and love.

We can discuss these in the abstract & feign wonder, but the way we address sin & treat others tells an uncomfortable truth about a thirst for judgment & condemnation.
Beautiful. Thankful for you and your church.
We should be most known for our joy & kindness.

But sadly, many Christians harden into authoritarian power-mongers consumed with judging & condemning others, both non-believers and believers alike.

It's one of the most heartbreaking ways in which the church has failed in this recent era. 💔 2/2
