PLURIBUS is so good. If you’re not watching it, get on that. The kind of sci-fi that recalls reading stuff like the best PKD novels, plus SO much more. And of course the filmmaking is thoughtful and inventive, with Rhea Seehorn just killing it.

I spent time browsing in a bookstore today and kept getting asked if there was something specific I was looking for. When I said I’m just trying to looki at your books, the bookseller said, oh you don’t mind if I work then and proceeded to place a ladder in front of the shelf, blocking me.
The death of browsing is part of the reason art is the way it is now. Our opinions are largely fed to us by algorithms. Spending a spare 15 minutes wandering around a bookstore or comic shop or video rental place was how you found stuff you wouldn't ordinarily pick up and thereby expanded your taste
Bookselling is like the most "people go to the store and buy what looks cool to them without a particular agenda" type business left, and your purchases have a huge influence on what is ordered, what is displayed, and what is recommended.

CROCODILE DUNDEE: REBORN
If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

I spent almost six years working at Barnes & Noble when I was younger. Plus more years at other bookstores. Now, needing work, I applied for temp holiday position at B&N. Today I received an email saying I’m not qualified enough. Again, nothing has meaning in this job market.
