This address by President Zelenskyy is heart-wrenching.
Faced with the—expected— US betrayal, he must be able to count on Europe.
If Europe does not help Ukraine defeat russia by all necessary means, it will bury its dignity, its principles, its legitimacy—and its security.
⚡️ BREAKING: President Zelenskyy warns Ukraine is facing one of the toughest moments in its history, with a choice between dignity and the risk of losing a key ally, or accepting a hard 28-point plan and a brutal winter ahead.

🧵 Especially worth it for the perfect final post
1/ What a Russian breaking of the ceasefire will look like, step by step.

There are far better experts on this, but I was an Australian diplomat in Ukraine in 2014 so I've seen this play out up close.

So join me, brothers and sisters, as we count down to a fullscale re-invasion.

Trump’s plan is to make a democracy that is fighting for its very existence, a vassal to a brutal and oppressive dictatorship. He is making the USA an accomplice to Ukraine’s eventual destruction.

If those fash motherfuckers thought being chased into the Carolina woods was too much to endure, wait until we chase 'em into da bayou.

"All the talk of Trump pivoting to Ukraine, of Trump being angry with Putin, of Trump wanting to be an honest broker, all of it is finally dead and revealed to be the nonsense it always was. The tragedy, of course, is that people ever believed this self-destructive fantasy in the first place."
Well, once again it was shown that Trump's "support" for Ukraine was a con. He has been working with Putin in secret to craft a "peace" deal which the US and Russia will now try to shove down Ukrainian and European throats. Just sent out this free piece. open.substack.com/pub/phillips...

I don’t care what happens with the Texas legislative maps. Democrats should still gerrymander the shit out of blue states.

Unclear how it's going to play out here. In New Orleans proper, you'll likely see Chicago-like resistance. But the largest immigrant communities are in JP, which is fairly right-wing and also governed by Republicans.
This New Orleans operation is going to closely resemble what we just went through in Chicago.

Is it misogynistic to say that Olivia Nuzzi is ugly? Would that make the same comment regarding Stephen Miller misandrist? Why is it okay to comment on his physical appearance but not hers? Some of our modern pieties escape me.

Municipal austerity is going to amplify the effects of the imminent recession. I have no idea if it's necessary, but it couldn't happen at a worse time.
Mayor-elect Helena Moreno said next year's budget will have to include even steeper spending cuts than originally envisioned, as the city pays back a $125 million loan to address a shortage of cash and also catches up on late vendor payments.

New Epstein file just dropped by the Trump DOJ ... and I've got some bad news Team Blue:
The whole thing is going to read like "It was great to see you HILLARIE CLINTEN. I loved hanging out with you at HILLARIE CLENTON tower. Say hello to your daughter CELSEE CLITEN and your three sons CHELSE CLINTEN."

Justin, saying that AI replaces cognition is exactly congruent to saying that Ponzi schemes replace mutual funds. Convincing simulacra that appear to be doing impossible things are not replacing anything except other grifts. As labor saving tech they’re more mechanical turk than spinning jenny.

Should health insurance cost more than rent? Actually, probably yes. But not with the artificial scarcity we've built into the housing market. We can't expect people to pay what health insurance is "worth" when they're paying $2000 or more per month to live in closets in most major cities.

I'm not as anti-Pete as a lot of people on here, but this is absolutely disqualifying. "Expression in the Democratic Party"? Did Kamala squint at him the wrong way? GTFO.
This is a straightforward Republican attack line, what the fuck is he doing

I keep coming back to Watergate. Nixon was fine until opinion among the party base shifted. He resigned when enough GOP members of Congress followed the base. How does Trump lose his grip on the party? Hammer away on something that gets the base to turn on him. That seems to be Epstein.

I want boring government that works! I want policies that ensure everyone has the same chances I had, allowing you to succeed or fail on your own merits, and if you fail, you’re not abandoned on the streets, but you get to brush yourself off and try again!

I want the American dream for everyone.

EDM-legend Kaskade has released a single from his upcoming album, an EDM version of "I Can't Make You Love Me" by Bonnie Raitt (!).

I'm such a devotee of the original that it's hard for me to even approach this tbh. A commentator suggests it sounds a bit like A&B. Maybe?

I can't say I foresaw the Russia Hoax and the Epstein Hoax coalescing into a single Unified Hoax of Everything, but the writers really know how to deliver (as they have proved countless times before).

This country is so absolutely fucked. It's almost funny.
