UPDATE: I've heard from Jose's family. He's apparently been transferred to an ICE detention center in TX, but it's been days since they've been able to speak with him.
He needs medical care and to be able to speak with his family and lawyer. This obscene cruelty helps no one.

Spot on. I'd say the US is already heading towards collapse. Maybe not total failure but it's becoming an ordinary nation no different from Russia or Hungary. "American exceptionalism" is dead.
