The replacement for Tom Sietsema as the Washington Post’s restaurant critic is Berkeley CA native Elazar Sontag, who’s been the restaurant editor at Bon Appetit magazine for past 3.5 years and lived in New York for past 6.

The Stacks development (north of V between 1st and 2nd St SW) in Buzzards Point just south of Audi Field turned out pretty nice similar to the renderings.

There’s some sort of clothing shop and a small market, this cool curved pedestrian lane has several retail spaces + housing

Streateries, when done right, bring a lot of value and life to a city block beyond more seats for a restaurant. During a roundtable today on DDOT’s proposed changes, I heard a lot of businesses tell me the rules are too strict and too expensive and that worries me. Here’s what I told the director:
