I made a Chrome extension that swaps Times New Roman for Calibri on every site or just .gov. It also had Open Sans and Open Dyslexic, because f**k these people.

I’m waiting for Google’s approval for it to install automatically, but you can download it and install it in 90 seconds. Instructions 👇

God, this book. I love a narrator that knows less than the reader does. I want to reread the whole series but idk when I'll be able to make time unless/until we get news on Alecto.
“Oh—” He used a word you did not understand. “Harrowhark, no theorems!”
“Don’t be ridiculous. She can’t be using theorems,” said Mercy. “She’d be barely awake and it’s totally beyond her at this poi—John, stop her, she’s using theorems!!”

Not sure how the GCM saying your BG is low when it's not would result in death? I'd be REALLY worried if it was saying you weren't low at all, and you gave yourself too much insulin?

Every time my accurséd G4 gives a low OR high alert, it says to confirm BG with a fingerstick.

I can't wait until my partner teacher gets back next month and I feel comfortable calling out and getting a sub when I wake up with a killer sore throat 🤒

Anyway only 10 days left after today, with just 6 of those for teaching.

Finally got the notification that my insulin pump update has shipped, so I hope that means the new sensors will follow soon? I still have at least 2 guardians but another 4 dexcoms so I'm good at least until January

I'm grading Performance Finals, in which my kids had to write a 5-paragraph argumentative/persuasive essay from a selection of topics.

I straight up told the kids that because they were writing all of this by hand without access to devices/the internet, I would not be fact checking their evidence.

Very little in this world as humbling for a first year HS Biology teacher as grading the written finals ☠️

What's that saying, "you can lead a student to knowledge but you can't make them think?"

Swear to god my ability to grade essays quickly lives and dies depending on how good my rubric is.

Vague rubric with a lot of wiggle room? One class takes hours. Specific rubric with exact criteria? Get the whole class done and entered in about 45 minutes.

So mad at the Guardian 4 right now (one sensor failed at 6 days, the replacement failed after less than 2 after spending 40% of it's time 'updating') that in a fit of pique I dug out my Dexcom 7s that I never got around to donating.

Medtronic says the Instinct ships late fall. Hope that's soon!!!

One of the teachers I'm working with properly for the first time this year bought a puzzle off Amazon for her homeroom class to work on during periods when there's not a lot of other stuff for them to do.

I looked at it briefly in passing as the kids were doing the edges and starting to fill it in.

Costco really is the best. I bought tires from them just over two years ago and recently started having trouble with one, which resulted in a shredded blowout on my way to work yesterday. Brought it in and they were like "holy shit let's get you a new one immediately of course it's under warranty."

Thinking today how homelessness runs through this story, through Epstein's (Virginia Guiffre had been homeless before meeting him), and even through Gaiman's (his nanny was sleeping on the beach when Palmer recruited her, and he used threats of homelessness against another victim).
The woman whom the House Ethics Committee determined Matt Gaetz paid for sex when she was 17 years old was living in a homeless shelter, working at McDonald's, and needed the money for braces www.nytimes.com/2025/11/13/u...
