Apparently our electricity bills are going through the roof and this is partly related to data centers that hog huge amounts of electricity to generate information. I, for one, feel hopping mad about this. The companies that are using the data centers should bear the cost.

Because the government was shut down and SNAP benefits are on hold, I spent half the day with LI Cares / Island Harvest and PSEGLI handing out fresh food to those in need out in Shirley, LI, NY.

one of my core memories is watching my mom sob and scream over the phone because she kept getting denied food stamps despite having a bus driver's income and 5 kids to take care of.
So, when people claim that programs like snap are too easy to abuse it rings really hollow.
