The WICKED cereal was deeply discounted at the store. This is proper; the cereal was bleh. But the boxes were worth it for the graphic design, and I have turned them into office supplies.
On a counter, a white binder is displayed so you can see the covers, decorated with graphics of Elphaba and Glinda from WICKED. In front of it are two dividers cut from the same cereal boxes, also with graphics of Elphaba and Glinda.

Almost all of the revenue I get from things I have written (non-fiction or academic) comes from libraries. I always say 'get your library to order it' because that is literally the best way to support me and make work like mine available to a wider audience

Libraries purchase books. When you see a book at the library, it isn’t “free”

the library bought it.

which in turn means that the community bought it.

In other words, library books are not lost sales for authors and publishers; they’re positive sales. Active sales. Those are bought.
