Random reminder that accountabilityarchive.org exists and if you see someone in a high profile position advocating genocide or dehumanizing Palestinians, you can submit a link to their statement to make sure it is not forgotten.

They have nearly 100,000 submissions

This is what I mean by establishment Liberalism basically training itself to be useless. Decades of the press training itself to play nicely with American power because everyone is all friends here, and then this guy rolls up and they don't know how to do anything else so they just keep right on.
(Semafor) - The New York Times and Washington Post learned of a secret US raid on Venezuela soon before it was scheduled to begin Friday night — but held off publishing what they knew to avoid endangering US troops ..

I'm thinking a lot about how Biden put a $25million bounty out for anyone to kidnap Maduro, just ten days before handing the Presidency over to Trump who has now kidnapped Maduro.

Starmer and Farage both drape themselves in flags but once again it's really clear where their loyalty really is.

It's Trump first. They will always be on the side of the super rich and powerful - no matter how heinous the crime.

This is not patriotism. It's subservience.

"These are the iron laws that have always determined global power."

A rare honest moment there from President Trump.

So does our Prime Minister believe in international law or the law of the jungle?

That's the choice here in opposing or supporting imperialism.

There's never a good reason to read Owen Jones, but it's still irritating to see a writer who absolutely knows better misuse the word "anarchy" like that.

The racket of imperialism that makes trans people an underclass is the same that is currently invading Venezuela for oil profits and antirevolutionary political gain.

Fuck the imperialists, fuck the occupiers. Solidarity with the people of Venezuela.

A lot of people forget how in 2004 the Bush regime kidnapped the democratically elected President of Haiti, Jean-Bertrand Aristide, and dumped him in Africa.
Is there any modern precedent for abducting a head of state?

Plenty of examples of coups, assassinations and domestic trials, including show trials, but this is like a Crusader Kings plot.

Over and over the US inflicts obscene violence against the global South, in flagrant violation of international law, to maintain the conditions for capital accumulation for its decadent billionaire class. It's disgusting and intolerable. We cannot continue to accept this.

Spray paint a plane and they'll detain you without trial and call you a terrorist.

Kidnap a foreign head of state - and Keir Starmer will make it clear we've played no part in it but will wait for the scheduled press conference in a few hours before potentially condemning it

The PM and Foreign Secretary should be condemning this illegal strike and breach of international human rights law.

After years of arming a genocide and worshipping the “special relationship”, Trump now believes he can act with impunity.
Trump just kidnapped President Nicolas Maduro of Venezuela

Bombing another nation & allegedly kidnapping its ruler - all openly admitted to be motivated by oil & Maduro's solidarity with Cuba - is not a "distraction" from Trump's crimes in the Epstein files. It is terroristic. They're not gonna hold him accountable, so you'll have to do that yourself.

The attack on Venuzela sovereignty is a straightforwardly condemnable act.

America is the thief of the world & the future. It is a bipartisan regime, built on indigenous blood & fueled by stolen oil. You pay taxes to rip apart countries for the sole benefit of CEOs & shareholders. Rip it up.

This illegal invasion of another country while its citizens sleep is a cynical act of American imperialism.

The fact that Venezuela has some of the world’s largest oil reserves makes this feel very familiar.

Greens stand against this contempt of international law.

You can't come back from permitting a prisoner to starve to death in front of everyone, for a cause that is so publically popular and morally correct, because of your wild obsession with minoritarian interests (both fascist un-populism and pro-Zionism).

I feel answering 'why is Starmer so unpopular' has to start with 'why would he be'?

In terms of qualities voters like in politicians (charisma, direction, relatability, not weak), few are found in him, and the ones he did once have (e.g., perceived competence) have been undermined in office.
Glad the FT is asking the question. Even if I’m not convinced they found a compelling answer.
I get that Starmer & Reeves are unpopular, I really don’t understand the extent of the dislike.
