I’m subscribed to both Kobo Plus and (shamefully) KU. I will say that Kobo Plus selection is smaller, but absolutely worth the subscription, quality-wise.
I feel Kobo Plus is a great solution. It doesn't require exclusivity, so it's cost free for authors to enroll, whereas for readers it's only eight bucks a month. But it's so much less popular. Readers won't come if the catalog isn't as big, but writers won't abandon KU if the readers aren't there.

This is why I’m still so mad about the garbage Bohemian Rhapsody movie. They forced his story into the typical “rock star goes through the ‘dark period’ of partying before returning to the *music*” cliche, but it just came off as extremely homophobic.
People often talk about his death as though it was the price he paid for a dangerous or decadent lifestyle. But it's not true; in the years when Freddie was partying, no one knew about the danger. He wasn't courting death, he was living joyously. The parties he threw sound fun as hell, tbh

As a 36 year old who is still in therapy that keeps getting back to “my parents were pretty bad at parenting and would have been happier without kids,” we really, really need to drop this idea.
