3 years ago today my mum passed away. We didn't get to say goodbye. I'm sending you love and light if today you are missing someone you didn't get to say goodbye to.
I hope the heartache passes swiftly and you are comforted by your enduring love for them.

Love Jeremy

A privilege to attend the Speaker’s Holocaust Memorial Day ceremony in Parliament.

We heard the testimony of Mala Tribich, who survived Ravensbruck and Bergen-Belsen, and committed ourselves anew to the memory of those who perished

Today at City Hall, we came together with Jewish community leaders and Holocaust and genocide survivors ahead of Holocaust Memorial Day.

We listened and reflected on our shared responsibility to carry the lessons of history forward, and to stand against hatred in all its forms.

Deeply moving to attend the Holocaust Memorial Day reception at Parliament.

Hearing from survivors of the Holocaust and the Cambodian genocide was a powerful reminder that remembrance must never be passive.

We must all speak out and ensure such atrocities never happen again.

January views looking down a windy Haweswater in the Lake District. It was so windy whilst taking this picture I struggled to stay standing.

Stuck at home today in Cheshire. A good excuse to have another look at the garden Chaffinches. I hadn't realised just how colourfully marked they were on their backs. For #BirdsSeenIn2026

Kim's secondhand bookshop in Arundel is another reef on which the wallet can be wrecked (3+ floors of books!).

Arundel is lovely though it has lost quite a few of its antique shops, which were always a delight, and my favourite walking kit shop, Peglers. I hope Kim's bookshop is still there. Went to the Black Rabbit for the first time just last December. Must find time to go to Arundel again..

I also need to learn not to pop into book shops if I don't want to drown in books. But an excellent haul in Kim's Bookshop in Arundel. Especially pleased to finally find a copy of Roy Mackal's Loch Ness Monster book.

I was in The Sussex Bookshop in South Street Chichester this morning, signing copies of The Dead Night Sky. I support great independent bookshops like this. The staff were lovely. Next week they are featuring local authors, so I was very grateful for the kind invitation.
