Happy new year, friends!! I had a really unexpected NYE in the ER with a friend who fell two floors and broke his leg and back—a much longer and more surreal story, but he’s just so lucky it’s not worse. A fucked up way to end a stupid year! Happy to see the end of it! Please be less stupid, 2026!

I wanted to get a video of this ghost crab but every time I got close to their hole they scuttled back in, so I tried getting clever with it. I made a little sandcastle and shoved my phone into it, hit record, and walked away. Crab was VERY suspicious of this addition to their environment.
