I remember the 1988 US election bc I lived in a Republican area w/ very Democratic parents.
And I remember the fall of the Berlin Wall & the 1989 San Francisco earthquake.
Also the 1989 Yellowstone fires, but I actually witnessed those so I'm not sure it counts.

I will add only that if you need to get urgent information to a vulnerable population without putting them or yourself at risk, the stalls of public toilets are classic graffiti-spots for a reason. Helplines, reproductive rights support, legal resources, know-your-rights ...
Just dropped this elsewhere, so boosting, since the illegal-orders discussion is back in the news: there's some great GI Rights Hotline postcards and leaflets for printing and distributing, but here's one with the absolute basic message and phone number as a label template.
I've seen a bunch of people sharing leaflet and postcard-sized versions of the GI Rights Hotline info, but I haven't seen any templates designed for label printing, so 30 seconds with the Avery template maker made the simplest possible version with the absolute basics (to be seen from a distance).

While I was in Hawaii I had to go to the ER to get all my meds renewed because I left Canada in such a rush I wasn't able to get them done before I left.
I know how expensive US ERs are, so I first checked what the standard base fee for a visit to that ER is and was quoted $200.
