The plan here seems clear: throw the admiral who followed Hegseth's orders under the bus. Of course, he should have resigned rather than follow them, like Admiral Alvin Holsey did, but still. "Got your back" means "throw you under the bus."

The incompetence of the ‘peace plan’ — vaguely phrased, unenforceable, self-contradictory — is a feature, not a bug.
It’s designed to be rejected so Moscow & US isolationists can say: ‘We offered peace; Europe refused.’

Breaking character: I am open to the idea the media's coverage of Biden's age and mental acuity was fair or perhaps not even tough enough. But the fact that it was so much tougher than the coverage of Trump's (more severe) mental decline is damning and I can't see how anyone could argue otherwise.

1) No Democratic scandal on par with Trump-Epstein, so it’d be biased and unfair to five it much attention.
2) Trump wouldn’t be shamed into resigning and his cult of personality wouldn’t abandon him, so Trump-Epstein wasn’t worth pursuing.
