ICE AT MY WORK HAVE A PLAN! STATE AND EXERCISE YOUR RIGHTS. WHAT TO DO IF: ICE Shows Up At Your Work DO NOT SEPARATE. BE MINDFUL. IF ICE HAS A SEARCH WARRANT SIGNED BY A JUDGE: KNOW THE LAW. RAPID RESPONSE NETWORK OF KERN If possibly talk to your employer, union, or coworkers about creating a plan. Decide who will represent your workplace if ICE shows up; this person will ask to see the warrant, will not consent to a search, and will be the main point of contact with ICE agents. You have the right to remain silent, you have the right to ask for an attorney, and you have right to not consent to a search. Remember to invoke these rights! You should not share any information and sign any documents with ICE agents until you can speak to an attorney. ICE agents will use a variety of tactics to discover your immigration status. If a raid occurs, make sure you and your coworkers stick together and do not respond to ICE agents. Never discuss your immigration status at work with anyone, unless it's to have a plan in place. Make sure the warrant has the correct address for your workplace. Look at the warrant to see what areas ICE is authorized to search. ICE is not authorized to search areas or inspect items that are not described in the warrant. Under California law, employers cannot provide employee records or voluntarily allow ICE agents to enter non-public areas of a workplace without a judicial warrant. A while back there were a couple “Christian, wife, moms” I had the misfortune of talking to on twitter. They spent 48 hours maligning me, insulting me, and slandering me. When I told them they were being bitchy, they came back with “you call yourself a Christian while using that language, lol.”

As it's December, please enjoy this haunted Christmas window display I saw that instantly sucked all festive spirit from my soul. Whoever devised this has divorced parents, I've never been so sure about anything. 🎄
A department store mannequin display depicting the most depressing Christmas you've ever seen. It stars two mannequins, a couple who, if their demeanour is anything to go by, won't be spending Boxing Day together. The big light is on because the light inside them has gone out. The window frame between them is a nice artistic touch suggesting irreparable division. It's so bleak you could cry. A mannequin sat at a table in a jumper by a Christmas tree and a cracker. He looks needlessly aggressive, like he's midway through rehashing an old argument that has simmered inside him for months. His sleeves are rolled up, he's not letting it go this time. He wanted today to be special, for them to pull the crackers and wear the party hats and remember what made them fall in love, but they're long past that now and the past is a foreign country. A mannequin sat at the table patiently listening to her incessant partner perform his generational trauma. Despite the mannequin having no facial features, there's an unmistakable visceral tension. The pressure of Christmas has defeated them. The mannequin's posture here suggests she's listening patiently, but in reality she's just going through every decision she's ever made and wondering what has led her to be right here right now. A small voice inside her head whispers 'it shouldn't be this difficult.' Cushion behind her does look nice though.
