Yes this is what policing is in this country. The difference is, and it's minor, is that cops still have to go through the motions of maybe getting in trouble when they kill before getting off later. These guys kill someone and the administration goes on TV and says fuck you they deserved it the end

What did the White House say?
I just spoke with the White House after another horrific shooting by federal agents this morning. Minnesota has had it. This is sickening.

The President must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota. Now.

These animals know climate change is real, they pretend it’s not but this is what’s driving their deranged crusade and scapegoating of migrants

Also it’s a problem designed for countries to close up shop when the full climate disaster hits
Immigration is a fake problem. We have politicians on the one hand who want to use immigrants as scapegoats for our real ones and politicians on the other who are too cowardly to stand against them and tell the truth. That is the entire situation. Until that changes, people will continue to die.

Especially if you're somehow not claiming it about the party led by the "Hitler was right" guy. You know?
I'm going to be honest, i think most people can now recognise that a party suddenly becoming a "hotbed of antisemitism" within weeks of a left wing leader taking over is a bit of a suspicious thing to be claiming twice.
As we say all the time: Labour hates the left more than it hates actual fascists & cares about antisemitism insofar as it can be weaponised against the left even though this sets back the battle against rising antisemitism & further undermines Jewish safety

We are seeing what they are willing to do to American citizens in front of cameras, we can only imagine the horrors that the undocumented folks in detention centers, places without observers, etc are facing outside of the spotlight.

Abolish and arrest all of these monsters

I don’t think a state that is threatening wars of territorial aggression and has random death squads wandering about its mid-tier cities assassinating civilians should be hosting the World Cup

▪️prosecutions for rights violations & corruption

▪️trans rights

I dont think every FPS is fascist propaganda but COD is, at this point, an extremely useful propaganda tool for a fascist administration
I grew up with FPS games and I am genuinely at "everyone who called all this stuff fascist propaganda was 100% right and I was making excuses for it when I downplayed that stuff to myself and others"

The largest socialist organization in the US (which, notably, does have a council-level presence in the Twin Cities) really ought to return to the kinds of discussions it was earnestly having during Trump's 1st term: constitutional overhaul. How can we be the parliamentary agitators for new law?

ICE agents are America's failures, basically indistinguishable from lazy school shooters, losers who want to play Call of Duty on our streets against people who can't fight back. They have unlimited ammo and toss tear gas like they're pressing L1. They have to be defunded and jailed. All of them.

instead of lashing out at "coups" and "plots" by Burnham, Streeting etc, have Team Starmer considered just... being less shit at governing?

The whole point of Tha Discourse is that it’s largely impervious to public opinion. It exists explicitly to steer, herd and harass the public into sullen compliance with whatever their leaders want this week, and to bark ferociously at everyone who doesn’t want to get into the pen.

It's not like people had not spent the first 10 years after 9-11 warning that the open, virulent islamophobia the Sensible Ones were playing footsie with would just give the far-right a way into Sensible politics. Being this blind will only mean a complete take over.

Oh good, the government's going to lean in on "it's antisemitic to not be an Islamophobe" and "real Jews rightly hate Muslims" as the cornerstone of defending "decent" politics. A strategy that has definitely not emboldened the far right to the point of legitimating fascist paramilitaries.

Reporters, if you wrote about learning loss due to covid school closures, you can write about learning loss due to state terror.
I am not being snarky. I need my colleagues who wrote on covid school lockdowns to engage with this. To be as loud as they have been about prior "learning loss." Hell, you can cite Tom & Mark's AERJ paper so you feel better that there's some econ somewhere in your argument.
