Friend of mine lived in a place where the other side of the street was an abandoned factory, from that end you could see inside past the collapsed ceiling. From the other end of that apartment he had a glorious unobstructed view of farmland and nature. Dude lived in the bus from the meme.

See, but six months ago he believed before the end of the year Sammy would give everyone god in a machine, not that NVIDIA, Oracle, OpenAI etc would start coming up with numbers needed for operation that would make even the most "10 million isn't a lot of money" guy see how ridiculous the bubble is.

I remember my parents waking me up to see Rosa Mota win the marathon in 1988, maybe around 4am or so. Live sports is one of the few things people can still enjoy together and that's why the "uuugh SPLORPSBALL can't you talk of something else???" people kinda get on my nerves.

Also love how some people who just wanted to talk about their hobbies had to take a course in tariffs, manufacturing chains, etc because some assholes were "tired of everything being political". Mikami never having played AITD and getting the basic ideas of it and Resident Evil ending up as a King's Field II clone with zombies is also another great "what if".

AITD has to be one of the biggest "what ifs" of that era. It's pretty much Lovecraftian horror Resi and it sold well and is a respected title, but... it isn't Resi, is it? I recall some people just refused to believe a 1992 french game was pivotal in the development of it.

Twice I had to put my hand to stop someone from walking absent mindedly intro traffic when the light for crossing was still red, much as many drivers are complete idiots who do absurd moves, there's people who really aren't able to look at their phones and be aware of their surroundings at all.
