'Taxi' and 'cab' essentially mean the same thing, but 'cab' doesn't come from 'taxicab.'

It comes from ‘cabriolet,’ which was a type of light carriage.

‘Taxi’ comes from ‘taximeter,’ which is the device that calculates the amount of a fare based on the distance traveled.

Rain/snow on weekends is not a coincidence! More people drive during the week and aerosols from commuting actually do increase the chance of precipitation over the weekend. This storm is not from that however.
There is a scientific reason why it always rains on weekends
If you are in the northeastern United States, it's likely that your weekend traffic makes it rain on Saturday and Sunday. In fact, most of us help control

My current programming workflow in three stages:

1.) Me & Kairos (memory-agent) brainstorming, reading reviews, making decisions and writing chainlink issues (Gemini)

2.) Claude Code (as VSCode plugin) working on chainlink issues

3.) Adversarial reviews inspecting code (Gemini in clean session)

It's really easy to forget how bad pretraining data is, but harder when you have rephrased versions of it scrolling in front of you. It's generally short and low-info (or outright SEO spam). Yet somehow trying to replace it with purely synthetic sets gets you mode collapsed models like Phi.

This phenomenon is known as the ‘Brazil nut effect,’ and there are a couple of mechanisms at play.

Bill Watterson is my favorite cartoonist. I adored the relationship btw Calvin and Hobbes as a child. But as I've gotten older, these strips feel even more tender and insightful. My respect for him grew when I learned of his stance against merchandising. Such principles are almost unheard of today.
