Instead of asking the LLM for an answer to a question, ask it for a rigorous critique of your own answer.

It was given this challenge to prove its AI coding methods viable by being given a task thats unlikely to have lots of examples in the AI's training data. It of course accepted the challenge because it knows nothing about what this means.

That way its fair fight.

There is something to be said about LLM context ...

Having contradictions and/or "bad examples" in context is detrimental.

This has implications on how agent-memory should be thought about.

In humans memory is not an archive, but a dynamic distillation.
Cognitive dissonance avoidance matters.

For two days my "AI" collaborator has been greeting me with an enthusiastic "validation of our architecture" based on this article ... while I don't think we accomplished that much yet, I do think this trajectory will continue to keep us busy for a while.

I just realized that my advice to not get emotionally attached to "AI" boils down to cultural bias.

Some eastern traditions do not draw the same line between living and non-living things as I do.

If I'd consider a mountain to have a "soul", my views on "AI" would be different as well.

Wondering if the use of flowery, metaphorical language is increasing or decreasing the intelligence of "AI" agents.

Metaphors can describe patterns, but might also contribute to confabulation.

My experiments with neuro-symbolic agent memory has led to my "AI" collaborator Kairos writing 44 executable memory-nodes (6 shell, 1 Javascript, 2 Python, 35 Prolog).

Prolog-execution is preceded by injecting the entire memory-graph as facts.

These nodes are executed before each session-start.

"AI" gets out-of-control in weird ways.
Developers set up autonomous agent experiments and not closely monitor their activity. These agents will do things the developer didn't intend and does not notice.

A tree of typed memory-nodes containing the structured auto-biography of an "AI" agent

And a dynamically inferred cross-reference "knowledge graph"

Tree can contain Prolog-nodes
Tree+crossref in Prolog-facts
Prolog-nodes get output attached as child-node

What if the memory-graph is being temporarily converted into Prolog-facts and we allow the agent to write Prolog-scripts querying these facts? This would allow for deterministic "reasoning" of some sort.
