This place is nice. Let's just enjoy the last of it while we can, now end-stage crapitalist enshittification is ending it all.

Bloke. UK. Woke socialist bot burner. The more cynical I get, the more accurate I get.

Sorry if you were overtaken by a speeding Peugeot 309 on Elland Road, Leeds in about 1994. I had a nightmare manager at the bank I worked at; had to get back on time or face disciplinary. If it was your family's funeral cortège that I pulled into to avoid a bus, I apologise.

Aged 42 I've developed a shoplifting habit. Always at the self scan in the supermarket, a card here, pack of biscuits there. Recently managed to get a £15 cheese advent calendar in. Staff are so overworked they just approve everything. Not struggling financially, just bored.

Got a tampon stuck up my vag so I phoned my boyfriend to "come home and help get it out." What was failed to mention was he was in the car with his family and the call was being broadcasted to the whole car to hear. Mother in law suggested lube to help it "slip out". kill me

English isn't my wife's first language, but she's lived in UK 20+ yrs. This morning, at a carol concert, I learned she has been singing that "Christ, Arse Saver" is born during 'Silent Night' the whole time. "Because he saves our arses, yes?"

I have a subscription to Private Eye. I never read the thing; I just consider it my charitable duty to help to prop up pretty much the only news-related publication which occasionally prints truthful items rather than the blatant lies which fill all other "news" publications.

I am a new senior academic in a long established British university. Upon taking charge of 'my' premises, I found dozens of decent students sleeping in our 24-hour study spaces: they are homeless. I don't know how to tackle this without rigid management just changing the locks.

Went to Japan as teen exchange student, bit nervous etc. Taken to dinner by host family immediately upon arrival. Went to loo, potent tapware left obvious splashmarks on crotch. Decided to remove trousers and entirely soak them in sink to match colour. Squelched through dinner.

This is 1 of several parents we’ve spoken with in the last 2 wks who are terrified about their future in the UK.
They work damn hard for shite pay while caring for British born & raised kids. This is who the govt is demonising & targeting with their cruel policies as they chase the Reform dog’s tail

I've worked at 11 companies over 35 years. 6 have had people whose job is to bring tea and snacks to our desks. Those were the companies that really cared about people and also made the most money. Funny that, looking after staff pays off.

It makes a loot of sense.

The right wing grifter "voice" is easy to replicate and requires no credentials or skills beyond time, shamelessness, and cruelty.

Twitter payouts for a modestly successful account aren't enough to live off in California, but will feed a family of four in Rajasthan.
I see a lot of Paidchecks on X didn’t realize that a whole lot of people on social media lie about their location to grift off the naïveté of the rage-addled American right.

Turns out this problem is real and it’s a thing those of us who worked on “disinformation” pointed out.

Also hilarious, for want of a better word, that British ‘patriots’ are amplifying & funding foreign actors who live in unsafe countries & have never been near Britain slagging off Britain. Good old Elon.

Important not to overlook the fact that this bilge is amplified & disseminated by many prominent - and very real - racists who benefit financially, professionally & politically from the process.
Twitter pays people based on engagement (views, retweets, comments, etc). It appears that many MAGA accounts are based abroad and they use AI technology to generate low-effort rage bait.

My guess is that this will get worse as AI tech improves. For instance, fake videos of minorities doing crime.
