I'm super excited to announce that my game The Labyrinth At The End Of Time has an official soundtrack from the Irish Indie rock band Bicurious!
They've helped me achieve a life long dream by letting me make a game with a soundtrack that rocks as much as the gameplay.
Crank that volume!
Many of my family members here have said they use AI a lot to do their job, and I want to reiterate that if it ever turns out I have AI generated anything in my game it's because the asset seller lied about it.
I personally have not used it for my game at all. Not even one bit.

Was looking at a site with some interesting shirt designs, but noticed some peculiarities in the art so I emailed the site asking if they use AI.

They replied that they do "mainly for idea generation and refinement."

Good to know. I will not be buying anything from that site.

I'm gifting my nephew a €100 gift certification to a local anime/comics/warhammer store for Christmas and in the personalized note area I'm thinking of writing "Don't make me regret this."

My sister said I deserve to be with a really cool lady and I agree.

This is a nightmare on so many levels.
Here’s a “I didn’t play for a week and now the Christmas event stuff started and every recurring revenue system reset requiring a new pop up” version that is somehow twice as long

Trust me, there's no "oops, we forgot and it accidentally slipped into the final game!" with this.
why use AI placeholder when the perfect placeholder already exists

"You left your man-purse in the car."
You can just call it a purse. I don't mind.

And speaking of Finns, a Finnish equivalent to “a few sandwiches short of a picnic” is hänellä ei ole kaikki muumit laaksossa. It means “they don’t have all the Moomins in the valley.”

Our upcoming game The Hearth and Harbour is fully 2D, but with some neat tricks we’ve made it look 3D. Ethan, our environment artist, did this with a special type of texture called a Normal Map. (Thread! 1/7)

added fence gates to block game. they really tie the front yard together, but they also manage to pull double duty as basic windows which is nice

Love a good spline mesh.
replaced the old modular tunnel system which had alignment issues with a spline mesh, which lets me make these gorgeous gentle curves

Yesterday the other QA guy at the studio said this is the first place he's ever worked where QA aren't immediately blamed for any issues that make it out to prod.
People finger point at QA - the weakest position in game development - when they don't want to take the blame.

As much as I am glad to be here in Finland with my family for such a long time to assist with so much stuff after my mother passed, I am also looking forward to being back home … so I can work on my game.
My work laptop is not up for the task.

I bought a bunch of assets off the last fab sale too.

It makes sense to me that the day after what could be one of greatest days of my life so far I’d bail down some stairs and be in a lot of pain.
I’m fine. No major damage.
But what the hell?
