leftists who believe land back is the equivalent to blood and soil are fucking ridiculous. they view the phrase/movement threw the lens of white supremacy and colonialism.

Did you catch this piece by Cooperation Jackson Co-founder Kali Akuno?

Everything we do to protect communities, we do for free, as willing volunteers. That goes for the vast majority of those who resist ICE.

Everything ICE agents do to terrorize communities, they do for money, and that money comes out of our pockets.

The longer they go without paychecks, the better.

As we've said for years:

The border is not a wall—it’s a system of control.
It doesn’t protect people; it pits them against each other.
It doesn’t foster togetherness; it breeds resentment.
It doesn’t keep out predators; it gives them badges and guns.

Police in Bloomington, MN just announced that one of the guys they arrested in an underage sex trafficking sting was a **background checker for ICE agents.**

He had a high security clearance in the Trump administration... and he was caught trying to abuse children. Sickening.

hatred of unhoused people is genuinely a pipeline to fascism. if the wealthy can get you to dehumanize your own neighbors, then they can get you to do it to anyone.

the smallest thing of all: know your neighbors & who might be at risk

everything grows from there
You know how I keep saying that every damn skill and capacity is needed in this moment???

What do you know how to do that can serve in this critical time??
One man tracking people being deported & deportation flights at the Minneapolis airport.
One person creating a record for future inquiries & potential prosecutions.

Trevor Paglen's deep surveillance documentation now being done by everyday people.

Meanwhile, this is now nearly 10 years old but it's the most recent solid data set I can remember seeing, but trans people in the US have a wider level of ethnic diversity than the US population as a whole williamsinstitute.law.ucla.edu/wp-content/u...

Since the transphobic dog whistle/air horn of "trans people are an affluent white demographic" is doing the rounds again, remember that it is an absolute crock of shit and you should call it out accordingly. Here's some info on the transgender pay gap in the US:
Paid less for being trans, a woman and a trans woman
This LGBTQ+ Equal Pay Day, The 19th focuses on the wage gap for trans women, who make 60 cents for every $1 earned by the average American worker.

"actually his stuff was very Derivative and not Original" like, you don't have to do this. it is good for us all to sit with the cognitive dissonance that a very bad person can make very good art. it is good for us to work through the moral ramifications of that.

I just ask people. I work with alot of folks from at risk communities so I can usually vibe when someone doesn't want their picture taken.

I have less issue w/ anarchists than I do students, because some DESPERATLY want to be filmed and collaborated with, while the one next to them wants none of it
It would be interesting (and maybe useful?) to hear from experienced movement documentarians and journalists about how they understand the boundary between reporting on a story/obligation to film vs engaging in tactics to directly support organizing

I refer people to my comments from the other day that the US is in the opening stages of genocide and any society that gets that far is a culture that needs to be systemically changed, not incrementally reformed.
This cannot be something a civilian law enforcement agent is allowed to wear in the US — and an agency that has a culture that tolerates this cannot be saved.
Fucking surreal that people dressed like this and carrying assault rifles are permitted to kidnap people off our streets

You cannot do "commonsense reform" for a secret police force that's declared itself exempt from constitutional requirements. You cannot reform ultraviolent agencies that have been corrupt for decades and now have accountability only to the president's goons and lackeys.
Democrats want commonsense reform for ICE:

End the roving patrols and racial profiling.

Take accountability and abide by the same rules as local police.

Masks need to come off, body cameras need to stay on—no secret police in the United States of America.

I'm not trying to tell anyone what tactics they should agree or disagree with, I have my opinions but I don't think that's a *useful* argument to have when this stuff becomes Discourse.

But if your standard is "no crime," you let legislators dictate protest legitimacy.

Guess who is legislating.

“The state keeps killing us to instill a warning & then shows us videos of its agents doing it.”

Police killings are warnings that say, “You will be next if you don’t stay in your place,” wrote @williamcson.bsky.social. To disrupt the state's monopoly on violence, we must abolish the police.
Police killings are public executions
Abolishing the police requires recognizing police killings as a fascistic tool and breaking cycles of fear and complacency

Idk if it's fear of the unknown, or what? But anyone who prevents change because they think there’s some redemption to be found in the world that existed pre-Trump is lying to themselves. Even if you had voted for Harris, you'd still have capitalism exploiting and extracting the global south. 1/2
