This is an approach I support. I have a lot of respect for @counciloravalos.bsky.social ‘s work, and I hope local leaders here in Burien, Seattle and King County (and Tukwila and Tacoma 👀👀👀) continue to follow suit!
See:
REVOKE THE PERMIT OR NOTHING AT ALL type messaging.

No, we actually want to layer laws & strategies on top of one another like a thicket.

That’s what creates a robust regulatory approach that might impact decisions.

Either/or reasoning is uninformed and damaging to the stated goals.
There’s a lot of ultra leftism popping up demanding that people take risks that the people doing the demanding are not actually taking.

Also a lot of all-or-nothing type grandstanding that is not really productive from an organizing standpoint unless the goal is to stop people from doing things.

Selling this space would be a huge mistake.
Seattle film production facility Harbor Island Studios found its funding on the Metropolitan King County Council’s budgetary chopping block — but the show will go on for at least a while longer. However, a solution is needed soon 📽️ My story for @seattletimes.com: www.seattletimes.com/entertainmen...

My latest on how the 2026 Seattle budget (final Council vote on Friday) is not setting Katie Wilson up for success, between its accounting tricks, one-time funding, and CM provisos. Also some details about the federal Continuum of Care changes, which I know many of you have been concerned about.

Mayor-Elect Wilson, bring back the congestion pricing study! The average Seattle-area driver loses 87 hours of their life each year sitting in traffic. That's over 3.5 days.

Think about what you're missing out on. Books read, meals shared. That's time you'll never get back.
How much time Seattle-area traffic costs drivers
A new report shows Seattle-area traffic is worse than before the pandemic, especially midday.

As for Surratt and Mantilla, they're picks that appeal to a lot of different interest groups in the city. I heard their names yesterday from someone who was a Harrell backer and the person was quite pleased. Pham is someone who's enormously well respected for her work in Little Saigon.

What a humbling e-mail to receive this morning from a rider in Jersey City. Secure parking for 🚲 🛴 has the power to transform the entire region by making transit more accessible and more convenient. My only hope is that we can rapidly speed up deployments w/cities and agencies across region.

Elevated rail has the benefit of being a wonderful way to visually experience a city.

See: the Seattle Monorail 😍
Hey transit folks, has Sound Transit considered an elevated route through downtown instead of the second tunnel? I was just imagining a platform that serves the second floor of Union Station and the view you'd get. I love riding the monorail and the L in Chicago. Could it also be cheaper?

The Real Losers in Seattle’s Mayoral Election? Oligarchs.
They poured mountains of dollars into trying to find ways to stop socialist Katie Wilson. But to younger voters, their money stinks.

This is your reminder that just because someone is wealthy it doesn’t mean that they are good with money

*stares in the Seattle City Budget for the next few years*
“And in the end, her campaign was simply more cost-effective. It spent $2.98 in PAC money per voter, where Harrell’s campaign spent a whopping $13.32. In my back-of-envelope McKinsey calculations, this means that socialist Katie Wilson got a better ROI than the oligarchs.”
