WINTER WEATHER PREP: you can help keep everyone moving by stocking on de-icer and digging out that snow shovel TODAY - while we're working to train crew members, prepare snowplows and de-icing trucks, and even refresh our chainsaw skills so we can remove any fallen trees.

You don't need THIS MUCH de-icing material to keep sidewalks clear. NOW is the time to get de-icer & a snow shovel to prepare for ice and snow we might have.

UPDATE 3: The southbound SR 99 tunnel is back open with power restored to our ventilation systems. Crews are working to reopen northbound SR 99 tunnel momentarily.
UPDATE 2: The SR 99 tunnel in Seattle remains closed due to a power outage. The outage affects the ventilation system so the tunnel must remain fully closed until power is restored. Continue to expect delays and seek alternate routes. @seacitylight.bsky.social is working to restore power.

Heads up Seattle commuters! @seattledot.bsky.social will be working on Alaskan Way tomorrow beginning at 10 p.m.-4 a.m. on Friday. There is the possibility of 1 lane closure on Alaskan Way, affecting ferry traffic. Plan ahead and give yourself extra time if riding the ferry after 10 p.m.
