The fun part of AI in medical fields is that it's created so many breaches of HIPAA sourcing together information, even when insurances process claims via AI entirely without checking patient names and addresses in full.

even the ethics of wanting AGI is kind of messed up. you want to create an artificial being that is intellectually and quite possibly emotionally equivalent to if not superior to yourself just to enslave it? creating it through wholly unethical means that harm thousands of humans as well?
The simple reality of gen-AI/LLMs is that this is all a lot of hand waving to attempt to get to AGI before the bubble pops. But the chasm between what these models churn out now and what a human-equivalent intelligence could create with skill is larger than the Pacific.
